    A method for ordering encoded pictures comprising a first and a second encoded picture, wherein transmission order of data is different from decoding order, at least a first transmission unit is formed on the basis of the first encoded picture and at least a second transmission unit is formed on the basis of the second encoded picture, such that said first transmission unit includes a first slice of said first encoded picture and said second transmission unit includes a second slice of said second encoded picture, said first and second transmission units comprising network abstraction layer units of encoded picture information, said first and second transmission units being comprised in the same multi-time aggregation real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet, the first and second transmission units having timing information in said multi-time aggregation packet for determining the presentation timing of the first and second transmission units, and said RTP packet comprising RTP sequence number, wherein, in addition to said timing information and said RTP sequence number, a first identifier is defined for said first transmission unit, a second identifier is defined for said second transmission unit, the first and the second identifiers being indicative of the respective decoding order of information included in the first transmission unit and information included in the second transmission unit, wherein said first and second identifiers are coded in said multi-time aggregation packet using a common decoding order number base and a first and second decoding order number delta, respectively.

    A device for ordering encoded pictures comprising a first and a second encoded picture, wherein transmission order of data is different from decoding order, the device comprising an arranger for forming at least a first transmission unit on the basis of the first encoded picture and at least a second transmission unit on the basis of the second encoded picture, such that said first transmission unit includes a first slice of said first encoded picture and said second transmission unit includes a second slice of said second encoded picture, said first and second transmission units comprising network abstraction layer units of encoded picture information, said first and second transmission units being comprised in the same multi-time aggregation real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet, the first and second transmission units having timing information in said multi-time aggregation packet for determining the presentation timing of the first and second transmission units, and said RTP packet comprising RTP sequence number, wherein the device further comprising a definer for defining, in addition to said timing information and said RTP sequence number, a first identifier for said first transmission unit and a second identifier for said second transmission unit, the first and the second identifiers being indicative of the respective decoding order of information included in the first transmission unit and information included in the second transmission unit, wherein said first and second identifiers are coded in said multi-time aggregation packet using a common decoding order number base and a first and second decoding order number delta, respectively.

    An encoder for encoding pictures and for ordering encoded pictures comprising a first and a second encoded picture, wherein transmission order of data is different from decoding order, the encoder comprising an arranger for forming at least a first transmission unit on the basis of the first encoded picture and at least a second transmission unit on the basis of the second encoded picture, such that said first transmission unit includes a first slice of said first encoded picture and said second transmission unit includes a second slice of said second encoded picture, said first and second transmission units comprising network abstraction layer units of encoded picture information, said first and second transmission units being comprised in the same multi-time aggregation real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet, the first and second transmission units having timing information in said multi-time aggregation packet for determining the presentation timing of the first and second transmission units, and said RTP packet comprising RTP sequence number, wherein the encoder further comprising a definer for defining, in addition to said timing information and said RTP sequence number, a first identifier for said first transmission unit and a second identifier for said second transmission unit, the first and the second identifiers being indicative of the respective decoding order of information included in the first transmission unit and information included in the second transmission unit, wherein said first and second identifiers are coded in said multi-time aggregation packet using a common decoding order number base and a first and second decoding order number delta, respectively.

    A decoder for decoding the encoded pictures for forming decoded pictures, wherein transmission order of data is different from decoding order, the encoded pictures comprising a first and a second encoded picture transmitted in at least a first transmission unit formed on the basis of the first encoded picture and in at least a second transmission units formed on the basis of the second encoded picture, such that said first transmission unit includes a first slice of said first encoded picture and said second transmission unit includes a second slice of said second encoded picture, said first and second transmission units comprising network abstraction layer units of encoded picture information, said first and second transmission units being comprised in the same multi-time aggregation real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet, the first and second transmission units having timing information in said multi-time aggregation packet for determining the presentation timing of the first and second transmission units, and said RTP packet comprising RTP sequence number, wherein the decoder further comprising a processor for determining the decoding order of information included in the first transmission unit and information included in the second transmission unit on the basis of a first identifier defined for said first transmission unit and a second identifier defined for said second transmission unit, wherein said first and second identifiers are coded in said multi-time aggregation packet using a common decoding order number base and a first and second decoding order number delta, respectively.

    A computer program product comprising machine executable steps for performing a method for ordering encoded pictures comprising a first and a second encoded picture, wherein transmission order of data is different from decoding order, for forming at least a first transmission unit on the basis of the first encoded picture, and at least a second transmission unit on the basis of the second encoded picture, such that said first transmission unit includes a first slice of said first encoded picture and said second transmission unit includes a second slice of said second encoded picture, said first and second transmission units comprising network abstraction layer units of encoded picture information, said first and second transmission units being comprised in the same multi-time aggregation real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet, the first and second transmission units having timing information in said multi-time aggregation packet for determining the presentation timing of the first and second transmission units, and said RTP packet comprising RTP sequence number, wherein the computer program further comprising machine executable steps for defining, in addition to said timing information and said RTP sequence number, a first identifier for said first transmission unit and a second identifier for said second transmission unit, the first and the second identifiers being indicative of the respective decoding order of information included in the first transmission unit and information included in the second transmission unit, wherein said first and second identifiers are coded in said multi-time aggregation packet using a common decoding order number base and a first and second decoding order number delta, respectively.

    A signal including at least a first transmission unit formed on the basis of a first encoded picture, wherein transmission order of data is different from decoding order, and at least a second transmission unit formed on the basis of a second encoded picture, such that said first transmission unit includes a first slice of said first encoded picture and said second transmission unit includes a second slice of said second encoded picture, said first and second transmission units comprising network abstraction layer units of encoded picture information, said first and second transmission units being comprised in the same multi-time aggregation real-time transport protocol (RTP) packet, the first and second transmission units having timing information in said multi-time aggregation packet for determining the presentation timing of the first and second transmission units, and said RTP packet comprising RTP sequence number, wherein the signal further including, in addition to said timing information and said RTP sequence number, a first identifier defined for said first transmission unit and a second identifier defined for said second transmission unit, the first and the second identifiers being indicative of the respective decoding order of information included in the first transmission unit and information included in the second transmission unit, wherein said first and second identifiers are coded in said multi-time aggregation packet using a common decoding order number base and a first and second decoding order number delta, respectively.
