EP1589470A1

Tag unit and reading / writing apparatus therefor

Abstract

A tag unit (2) comprises two RFID tags (5,8) arranged nearly parallel with each other, each RFID tag including an antenna (3,6) and an IC chip (4,7) having a tag transmission/reception section (19,21), and a storage section (20,22). The tag unit stores different serial numbers in the respective storage sections. A tag unit reading/writing apparatus (10) writes the different serial numbers and common data in the storage sections of the respective RFID tags, and retains the same serial numbers of the respective RFID tags in its storage section (18). The tag unit reading/writing apparatus judges validity of reading and reusability of the tag unit, when it successfully reads both of the serial numbers and the data stored in the storage sections of the respective RFID tags.

  1. 1
A tag unit (2) including at least two RFID tags (5, 8), each tag comprising an antenna (3, 6) and an IC chip (4, 7) having a tag-transmission/reception section (19, 21) and a tag storage section (20, 22) for storing an identical data common to the at least two RFID tags characterized in that each tag storage section of the at least two RFID tags respectively stores ID information different from one another to identify respective RFID tags, the each ID information being combined with the identical data.
  2. 4
A tag unit reading/writing apparatus (10) which performs a wireless communication with a tag unit (2) which includes at least two RFID tags (5, 8), each tag comprising an antenna (3, 6) and an IC chip (4, 7) having a tag-transmission/reception section (19, 21) and a tag storage section (20, 22) for storing an identical data common to the at least two RFID tags, the apparatus comprising a wireless communication section (17) for performing the wireless communication with the at least two RFID tags of the tag unit, a reading part, a writing part and a storing part characterized in that each tag storage section of the respective RFID tags previously stores a unique ID information different from one another, the reading part reads ID information from the tag storage section of respective RFID tags through the wireless communication section, the writing part writes ID information from the reading part and an identical data which is common to the at least two RFID tags to the tag storage section of the respective RFID tags through the wireless communication section so as to combine ID information and the identical data in the tag storage section, and the storing part stores one ID information read from one of the at least two RFID tags and the other ID information which is read from the other RFID tag different from the one ID information so as to have a specific relation between the one ID information and the other ID information in the storing part.
