    A method of automatically playing the contents of a medium in a player, the method comprising:providing a first menu for a pre-determined timeout period after insertion of the medium into the player, the first menu inviting an interaction;and playing a portion of the contents of the medium in an uninterrupted pre-determined sequence after the pre-determined timeout period has lapsed without any interaction having been received, further comprising upon receiving an input from the user after the pre-determined time interval, interrupting the playing of a plurality of data blocks of the medium in the pre-determined sequence, providing a second menu to the user so that the user can select either the plurality of data blocks of the medium that the user would like to view or to continue viewing the plurality of data blocks of the medium in the pre-determined sequence, and wherein the playing of the data blocks of the medium in the pre-determined sequence resumes at the point of interruption.

    A tangible data storage medium having contents stored thereon, the medium having recorded thereon:instructions that instruct a medium player to provide a first menu for a pre-determined time period after insertion of the medium into the player, the first menu inviting an interaction during the pre-determined period;instructions that instruct a portion of the contents of the medium to be played an uninterrupted pre-determined sequence after the pre-determined timeout period has lapsed without any interaction having been received;and further comprising instructions that instruct the medium player upon receiving an input from the user after the pre-determined time interval, to interrupt the playing of a plurality of data blocks of the medium in the pre-determined sequence, to provide a second menu to the user so that the user can select either the plurality of data blocks of the medium that the user would like to view or to continue viewing the plurality of data blocks of the medium in the pre-determined sequence, and wherein the playing of the data blocks of the medium in the pre-determined sequence resumes at the point of interruption.
