A cryptographic device (30) may include a cryptographic module (31) and a communications module (32) removably coupled thereto. The cryptographic module (31) may include a first housing (34), a user Local Area Network (LAN) interface (35) carried by the first housing, and a cryptographic processor (36) carried by the first housing and coupled to the user LAN interface. The communications module (32) may include a second housing (45) and a network wireless LAN interface (47) carried by the second housing. The network wireless LAN interface (47) may be coupled to the cryptographic processor (36), and it may be switchable between wireless LAN modes.
