Compositions for porous materials

The present invention relates to the use of water soluble neutral esters of acids of phosphorous of general formula (I) as carriers for improving the absorption of aqueous compositions, preferably aqueous solutions, into porous wettable materials such as paper, wood, masonite, plaster, preferably wood: wherein: R1 and R3, being identical or different, are linear or branched C1-C4 alkyls, preferably C1-C3; R2 is linear or branched C1-C4 alkyl or oxyalkyl, preferably C1-C3; R3 and R2, when R2 is oxyalkyl taken together may form a ring having 5 to 6 atoms, including 2 or 3 carbon atoms.
