A system for indicating transferability of a non-degradable target in-vivo device through a GI tract, the system comprising:- a non-degradable target in-vivo device;- an in-vivo device (50) comprising: - a dissolvable body (58);- a dissolvable plug (58') affixed to the body (58), said body (58) and plug (58') defining a closed receptacle;- an outer coating (54), which is essentially impermeable to GI tract liquids, enclosing the plug (58') and the body (58) except at a window (56), said coating (54) covering less than the entire plug (58') so that the plug (58') is not coated at the window (56);and - a passive monitoring device (53), said in-vivo device (50) having initial dimensions simi-lar to dimensions of the non-degradable target in-vivo device, wherein the body (58) is made of a material that is faster to dissolve than the material of the plug (58');and wherein the dissolving rate of the plug (58'), after getting into contact with GI tract liquids, depends on parameters of the size of window (56), the properties of the material of the plug (58') and the thickness of the plug (58') so that a predetermined time period, after which the plug (58') will dissolve enough to create an opening through window (56) through which GI tract liquids come into contact with the body (58), depends on the material and thickness of the plug (58') and the size of the window (56), wherein the plug (58') is of such material and thickness, and the window (56) is of such size, that the body (58) and the plug (58') dissolve in GI tract liquids in such a rate that: - the in-vivo device (50) has its initial dimensions for the predetermined time period of contact with GI tract liquids: and - after the predetermined time period of contact with GI tract liquids, the dimensions of said in vivo device (50) reduce to final dimensions that are smaller than the initial dimensions;and - an external inducer for inducing said monitoring device (53) to send a signal.
