    Claims of equivalent WO 2004056525 A1 WE CLAIM:1. A spun metal apparatus used to manufacture a dual alloy object comprising: a form can (39);and a form flange (33) in contact with said form can (39), said spun metal apparatus capable of being vacuum brazed to said dual alloy object, said dual alloy object having an interface, and said spun metal apparatus capable of preventing braze alloy contamination of said interface.

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-2, wherein said form can (39) and said form flange (33) comprise a nickel-based superalloy.

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-3, wherein said dual alloy object comprises a casting (31 ) and a hub (32).

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-5, wherein said form flange (33) is annular.

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-6, wherein said form can (39) has a thickness between about 0.032 inches and about 0.093 inches.

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-7, wherein said form flange (33) is planar to within about 0.002 inches as interpreted per ASME Y14.5M.

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-8, wherein said form flange (33) has a flange edge (46), said interface has an interface edge (48), and wherein a distance between said flange edge (46) and said interface edge (48) is about 0.090 inches.

    The spun metal apparatus of any one or more of Claims 1-9, wherein said dual alloy object comprises a dual alloy turbine wheel.
