Cardiac-valve prosthesis

Abstract

A cardiac-valve prosthesis, comprising: an armature (2), adapted for deployment between a contracted position and an expanded implantation position; anda set of leaflets (3) coupled with said armature (2) for deployment therewith between the contracted position and the expanded position, the set of leaflets (3) defining, in the expanded position, a flow duct for the blood, which is selectively obstructable by the set of prosthetic valve leaflets (30) as a result of the reversal of the direction of flow of said blood flow, wherein the armature (2) comprises:an external portion (5), adapted for deployment to enable the anchorage of the cardiac-valve prosthesis at the implantation site; andan internal portion (6), which supports said prosthetic valve leaflets (30); said external portion (5) and said internal portion (6) being substantially axially coextensive with respect to one another.
