A synchronization detection device for receiving a signal (S 10) including a long code LC, a common short code CSC for detecting timing of said long code LC included in a received signal and a group identification code GISC, said synchronization detecting device comprising:a correlation detecting device (50) adapted to sequentially capture said received signal based on a data shift clock supplied to said correlation detecting device, to receive first, second or third replica codes corresponding to one of said long, said common or said group codes respectively, and to detect a correlation value between one of said first replica code and said second replica code and said received signal;a correlation coefficient generating device (83) adapted to generate and to supply one of said first, said second or said third replica codes to said correlation detecting device (42);a control device (44) adapted to stop a supply of said data shift clock to said correlation detecting device at a desired timing and to cause said correlation detecting device (42) to hold said received signal, and to simultaneously switch a replica code to be generated by said correlation coefficient generating device (83) to one of said first said second or said third replica codes at said desired timing and to detect said correlation value of said desired timing, thereby respectively detecting said common short code CSC in order to detect said timing of said long code LC, and said long code LC;a comparator (87) adapted to detect whether said correlation value exceeds a prescribed threshold value, and wherein said control device (81) is adapted to detect said correlation value by setting said threshold value of said comparator in accordance with switching of replica codes;and wherein said control device (81) is adapted to cause said correlation coefficient generating device to generate said second replica code and to cause said data shift clock to be supplied to said correlation detecting device in order to cause said correlation detecting device to detect said correlation value on said second replica code, and, by judging whether said correlation value exceeds a first threshold value, detects said second code so as to detect said timing of said long code LC;and said control device is further adapted to stop said supply of said data shift clock when said second code is detected, thereby causing said correlation detecting device to hold said received signal and to switch the generating replica code to the first replica code in order to detect the code type of said long code, wherein said correlation coefficient generating device (83) comprises: a first pseudo noise code decoder (90) adapted to generate a replica code (D CSC ) of the common short code CSC or a replica code (D GISC ) of a group identification code GISC;a second pseudo noise code decoder (91) adapted to generate a replica code (D LC ) of the long code LC for detecting partial correlation and to generate, out of long code LC, a partial long code corresponding to a length of one cycle of the short code, based on a first initial value (D LC-INT ) of the long code LC supplied from the control device (81) or a second initial value (D LC-INT' ) of the long code LC supplied from a latch (94);and a data decoder (95) adapted to sequentially repeat a process of receiving an initial value (D LC-INT ) of the long code LC and to form an initial value (D1) for generating a partial long code corresponding to a length of one cycle of a following short code SC, thus forming the initial value (D1) to generate a partial long code with a predetermined phase.
