  1. 1
A multi-port memory, comprising:a plurality of memory cores (5040) having memory cells;a plurality of input/output ports (PORT-A, PORT-B), each of which includes a clock terminal (5014) for receiving a clock signal, address terminals (5018) for receiving address signals that are supplied in synchronization with the clock signal for selecting the memory cells, and data input/output terminals (5016) for inputting/outputting data signals;and a plurality of control circuits (5048), each of which is provided for a corresponding one of the memory cores, and selects the address signals supplied from the data input/output terminals of one of the input/output ports to access the memory cells indicated by the selected address signals;a page buffer (5050) which stores therein data equal in amount to two or more of the memory cells is provided for each input/output port, and characterised in that upon receiving the same address signals from two input/output ports, data is transferred in a single step between the memory cells and one of the page buffers, and successively transferred between said one page buffer and the data input/output terminals of the said two input/output ports (fig. 133).
  2. 7
A method of controlling a multi-port memory that includes:a plurality of memory cores (5040) having memory cells;a plurality of input/output ports (PORTA, PORT-B), each of which includes a clock terminal (5014) for receiving a clock signal, address terminals (5018) for receiving address signals that are supplied in synchronization with the clock signal for selecting the memory cells, and data input/output terminals (5016) for inputting/outputting data signals;and a plurality of control circuits (5048), each of which is provided for a corresponding one of the memory cores, and selects the address signals supplied from the data input/output terminals of one of the input/output ports to access the memory cells indicated by the selected address signals;a page buffer (5050) which stores therein data equal in amount to two or more of the memory cells is provided for each input/output port, and characterised in that upon receiving the same address signals from two input/output ports, said method comprises the steps of transferring in a single step data between the memory cells and one of the page buffers, and transferring successively the data between said one page buffer and the data input/output terminals of the said two input/output ports so as to provide a read/write operation.
