A transceiver (100), comprising:multiple parallel ports (102) and multiple serial ports (104);a ring shaped bus (106) connecting said multiple parallel ports (102) and said multiple serial ports (104) on a common substrate (500) with said multiple parallel ports (102) and said multiple serial ports (104) together forming various data ports (102, 104);wherein said bus (106) is configured to have the ring shape around a logic core (502), and is placed between the logic core (502) and said various data ports (102, 104) to provide efficient communication between the logic core (502) and said various data ports (102, 104) that occupy the perimeter of a layout of the common substrate (500), wherein the logic core (502) is at a center of the layout of the common substrate (500);wherein the logic core (502) is configured to operate said bus (106) and said multiple parallel ports (102) and said multiple serial ports (104);wherein said bus (106) comprises plurality of sections (1 06a, ... , 106g) wherein each one of the plurality of sections (106a, ... , 106g) provides an interface to a respective one of said multiple parallel ports (102) and said multiple serial ports (104) that is adjacent to the respective one of the plurality of sections (1 06a, ... , 106g);wherein each one of the plurality of sections (106a, ... , 106g) comprises a first path (608) and a second path (610), and is configured to: let data enter the bus (106) onto the first path (608) through a first buffer (602);forward the data to its destinations along the first path (608) and through a plurality of second buffers (604a, 604b);pass the data from one of the plurality of sections (106a, ... , 106g) to another along the second path (610) and through a plurality of third buffers (612a, 612b);let the data leave the bus (106) from the second path (610) through a multiplexer (606) to a functional block of the logic core (502).
