At the start of traveling of a mobile object, a central processing unit (1) calculates a route to a target place and an estimated time of arrival at the target place. After the start of traveling, when the mobile object has come to within a predetermined distance of the target place, a distance calculating unit (21) in the central processing unit (1) detects the distance, and a calling unit (24a) in the central processing unit (1) automatically makes a call to a destination set in association with the target place through an external communication network. In this manner, a person who waits at the target place can be notified of the estimated time of arrival at an appropriate time.
