  1. 1
A communication source device (411) for connection to a local network and for executing a communication process in which a predetermined authentication method is performed in order that secret information is permitted to be disclosed only to devices in the local network, said communication source device being configured, when connected to the local network, to:acquire first unique identification information (ID1) from a communication destination device by data processing at a network layer or lower of an OSI reference model;acquire second unique identification information (ID2) from the communication destination device or a proxy thereof in an authentication sequence of said authentication method by data processing at an application layer of the OSI reference model;match said acquired first unique identification information against said acquired second unique identification information;and determine whether said communication destination device is connected to the same local network as the communication source device in accordance with a passed or failed state of the matching.
  2. 2
The communication source device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said second unique identification information received from said communication destination device or proxy thereof comprises processed data generated by an encryption process or a hash value generation process based on secret information shared with said communication source device.
  3. 3
The communication source device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the first identification information received from said communication destination device is a node unique ID defined in IEEE 1394 standards.
  4. 4
The communication source device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the first identification information received from said communication destination device comprises third identification information acquired from a PHY communication unit (303) of said communication destination device and fourth identification information acquired by a network communication unit (305) of said communication destination device, and wherein the communication source device is configured to match the third and fourth identification information.
  5. 5
The communication source device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the first identification information received from said communication destination device is a device address defined in communication standards.
  6. 6
The communication source device as claimed in Claim 1, wherein the first identification information comprises a first device address as a source address of a packet transmitted from said communication destination device, and second device address stored in a packet by data processing at an application level or data based on the device address at the application level, and wherein the communication source device is configured to match the first and second device addresses.
  7. 7
A communication controlling method for executing a communication process between a communication source device attached to a local network and a communication destination device, said method comprising:an identification information acquiring step of acquiring first unique identification information from the communication destination device by data processing at a network layer or lower of an OSI reference model, and acquiring second unique identification information from the communication destination device or proxy thereof in an authentication sequence of a predetermined authentication method at an application layer of the OSI reference model;a matching processing step of performing a matching of said acquired first unique identification information with said acquired second unique identification information;and a judging step of judging, in accordance with a passed or failed state of the matching, whether said communication destination device is a device connected to the same local network as the communication source device.
  8. 8
The communication controlling method as claimed in Claim 7, wherein in said identification information acquiring step, said second unique identification information received from said communication destination device or proxy thereof comprises processed data generated by an encryption process or a hash value generation process based on secret information shared with said communication source device.
  9. 9
The communication controlling method as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the first identification information received from said communication destination device is a node unique ID defined in IEEE 1394 standards.
  10. 10
The communication controlling method as claimed in Claim 7, wherein said identification information acquiring step comprises receiving, as first identification information received from said communication destination device, third identification information acquired from a PHY communication unit of said communication destination device and fourth identification information acquired by a network communication unit of said communication destination device, and said matching processing step matches said third and fourth identification information.
  11. 11
The communication controlling method as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the first identification information received from said communication destination device is a device address defined in communication standards.
  12. 12
The communication controlling method as claimed in Claim 7, wherein the first identification information received from said communication destination device or proxy thereof comprises a first device address as a source address of a packet transmitted from the communication destination device, and a second device address stored in a packet by data processing at the application level or data based on the device address at the application level, and said matching processing step matches said first and second device addresses.
  13. 13
A computer program for causing a computer to execute the method of any of Claims 7 to 12.
