  1. 1
A User Equipment, UE, which facilitates high speed-downlink shared channel, HS-DSCH, cell change from a source cell to a target cell, the UE comprising at least one reordering buffer for buffering Protocol Data Units, PDUs, received by the UE, characterised by the UE comprising:means for detecting a radio resource control, RRC, message associated with a HS-DSCH inter-Node B cell change and for flushing all PDUs stored in said at least one reordering buffer from a medium access control, MAC, layer to its associated radio link control, RLC, entities mapped to the HS-DSCH, in response to said RRC message having an identifier that the MAC layer is to be reset;status means for determining, subsequent to flushing of said reordering buffer, the status of all flushed PDUs received by the RLC entities mapped to the HS-DSCH;means for generating a status report for each acknowledge mode, AM, RLC entity mapped to the HS-DSCH based upon said determination, wherein each status report indicates the status of PDUs received by the UE;and means for transmitting each status report.
  2. 5
A system for efficient recovery of Node B buffered data, the system comprising a radio network controller, RNC, associated with at least one Node B, said at least Node B being further associated with at least one UE wherein the RNC comprises means for generating a radio resource control, RRC, message associated with a high speed-downlink shared channel, HS-DSCH, inter-Node B cell change wherein the UE comprises a control unit comprising means for detecting the RRC message, means for flushing all PDUs stored in at least one reordering buffer from a medium access control, MAC, layer to its associated RLC entities mapped to the HS-DSCH, in response to said RRC message having an identifier that the MAC layer is to be reset wherein the UE comprises status means for determining, subsequent to the flushing of said reordering buffer, the status of all flushed PDUs received by the RLC entities mapped to the HS-DSCH, and means for generating a status report for each acknowledge mode, AM, radio link control, RLC, entity mapped to the HS-DSCH based upon said determination, wherein each status report indicates the status of PDUs received by the UE;and wherein the UE comprises means for transmitting said status report to said RNC.
  3. 11
A method for high speed-downlink shared channel, HS-DSCH, cell change in a system having a radio network controller, RNC, coupled to at least one Node B, which is further coupled to at least one User Equipment, UE, having at least one reordering buffer for buffering Protocol Data Units, PDUs, sent from the RNC, the method comprising:detecting at the RNC the need for an HS-DSCH cell change;notifying the UE to perform a reset using a radio resource control, RRC, message associated with a HS-DSCH inter-Node B cell change;resetting, at said UE, comprising flushing of all PDUs stored in said at least one reordering buffer from a medium access control, MAC, layer to its associated RLC entities mapped to the HS-DSCH;determining, subsequent to the resetting step, the status of all flushed PDUs received at the RLC entities mapped to the HS-DSCH;generating a status report for each acknowledge mode, AM, radio control, RLC, entity mapped to the HS-DSCH based upon said determination, wherein each status report indicates the status of PDUs received by the UE;and transmitting from the UE to the RNC each status report.
