  1. 1
An equipment (22) for the automatic deposit of banknotes comprising a transaction port (33) for receiving a stack (24) of banknote (23), a separating device (36) for separating the constituting sheets of the stack, a validation device (37) for discriminating the constituting sheets as recognized banknotes and constituting sheets not recognized, a transport mechanism (38, 39) servo-dependent on the validation device (37) to drag said constituting sheets along differentiated paths (72, 73) for the recognized banknotes and for the constituting sheets not recognized, said equipment (22) being characterized in that it further comprises a box assembly (52) adjacent to said transaction port (33) and including two storage boxes (53, 54),the said assembly being shiftable among at least three different positions (I, II, III);and in which the said three positions (I, II, III) are associated with predetermined conditions of communication of the storage boxes (53, 54) with the transaction port (33), the separating device (36) and the transport mechanism (38, 39) to receive the stack (24), transfer the stack to the separating device, temporarily store as banknote sub-stack (50) and as discard sub-stack (55) the recognized banknotes and, respectively, the constituting sheets not recognized and to return, by request, the discard sub-stack and the banknote sub-stack.
  2. 6
Equipment (22) according to any of the claims from 1 to 4, characterized in that one of said storage boxes (53, 54) defines a banknote box (53) for receiving said stack (24) or the banknote sub-stack (50);in which, at a first position (I) of the box assembly (52), the banknote box (53) is in communication with the transaction port (33) and the separating device (36), and at a second position (II) of the box assembly, the banknote box is in communication with the transport mechanism (38, 39);the said banknote box (53) being provided to receive the stack (24) of banknotes and transfer the said stack to the separating device (36) at the first position, and to receive the recognized banknotes and constitute the banknote sub-stack (50) at the second position;and in which, at the first position, the banknote box (53) is further provided to transfer the banknote sub-stack (50) to the separating device (36) or, in alternative, to return the banknote sub stack to the transaction port (33).
  3. 7
Equipment (22) according to any of the claims from 1 to 4, characterized in that one of said storage boxes (53, 54) defines a discard box (54) for receiving the constituting sheets not recognized and forming the discard sub-stack (55);in which, at a second position of the box assembly (52), the discard box (54) is in communication with the transport mechanism (38, 39) for receiving the constituting sheets not recognized and forming the discard sub-stack (55);and in which, at a third position of the box assembly (52), the discard box (54) is in communication with the transaction port (33) and the separating device (36) to return the discard sub-stack (55) to said transaction port or to transfer said discard sub-stack to the separating device.
  4. 8
Equipment (22) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the box assembly (52) comprises three couples of endless conveyer belts (132, 133, 134), in which the belts of each couple of conveyer belts (132, 133, 134) are placed side by side for cooperating with central areas of the sheets constituting the stack (24) or the sub-stacks and in which a first couple of belts (132) is arranged at an upper portion of the box assembly, a second couple of belts (133) is at an intermediate portion, and the third couple of belts (134) is at a lower portion of the box assembly (52), the said stack (24) and the banknote sub-stack (50) being provided for engagement between the first couple of belts and the second couple of belts, and said discard sub-stack (55) being provided for engagement between the second couple of belts and the third couple of belts.
  5. 9
Equipment (22) according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the box assembly (52) comprises a moving mechanisms including endless conveyer belts (132, 133, 134) and two holding mechanisms and in which the holding mechanisms are selectively actuatable to make integral in the movement the sheets constituting the stack (24) or the sub-stacks of the two boxes (53, 54) with the conveyer belts (132, 133, 134), and to allow the shifting of the stack or the sub-stacks by the said belts.
  6. 10
Equipment (22) according to claims 3 and 9 characterized in that said storage boxes (53, 54) define a upper box and a lower box and in which a single moving mechanism and upper, intermediate and lower endless conveyer belts (132, 133, 134) are provided for the upper box and the lower box, said single moving mechanism being operatively connected with the conveyer belts (132, 133, 134) to determine a concurrent sense of motion between the lower branches of the upper belts (132) and the higher branch of the intermediate belts (133) and between the lower branch of the intermediate belts and the higher branch of the lower belts (134).
  7. 11
Equipment (22) according to any one of the preceding claims, further comprising, at the transaction port, a window of access toward the inside to receive the said stack (24), and a shutter door for the window movable along a movement surface adjacent to the said window, a thickness control device having a sensor provided for bearing on a stack (24) received at the transaction port (33) to detect a condition of pre-defined maximum thickness of the stack, and a moving mechanism for the automatic insertion of the stack (24) received at the transaction port, the said moving mechanism being servo-dependent on the sensing device to introduce stacks of thickness less than said maximum thickness.
