13 claims: 4 independent, 9 dependent

  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 2004018978 A1 CLAIMS 1. A level gauging system for calculating the level of the surface (6) of a product (2) in a storage room (1), the system comprising a first gauging device (10) for calculating a first value of said level and functionally separated from said first gauging device a second gauging device (14) for calculating a second value of said level, characterized in that the first gauging device (10) is adapted to produce a first signal (12) in dependence of a preset first threshold value of said level and to output a first current level value signal (19), the second gauging device (14) is adapted to produce a second signal (16) in dependence of a preset second threshold value of said level and to output a second current level value signal (20), and that the system includes an indicating unit (21) adapted to receive at least one of said first level value signal (19) and said second level value signal (20) for presenting the value of the current level of said surface (6).
  2. 4
A level gauging system according to any of claims 1 - 3, wherein said system comprises a second alarm (17), which is activated by said second signal (16).
  3. 8
A level gauging system according to any of the preceding claims, wherein at least one of said gauging devices (10, 14) is a radar level gauge.
  4. 9
Method for calculating the level of the surface (6) of a product (2) in a storage room (1) by means of a radar level gauging system including a first gauging device (10) for calculating a first value of said level and functionally separated from said first gauging device a second gauging device ( 14) for calculating a second value of said level, the method comprising the steps:producing a first signal (12) in dependence of a preset first threshold value of said level in the first gauging device (10), outputting a first current level value signal (19) from said first gauging device (10), producing a second signal (16) in dependence of a preset second threshold value of said level in the second gauging device (14), outputting a second current level value signal (20) from said second gauging device (14) and presenting the value of the current level of said surface (6) by means of an indicating unit (21) receiving at least one of said first level value signal (19) and said second level value signal (20) for evalutation of the said current level value.
