A method for receiving a traffic indication message by a mobile subscriber station, MSS, (900, 1000, 1100, 1303, 1305, 1307) in a Broadband Wireless Access communication system, the method comprising:receiving a unique assignment of a sleep identifier, SLPID, from a base station, BS, (950, 1050, 1150, 1300) with an instruction to enter a sleep mode, and receiving the traffic indication message from said base station, BS, when the MSS is in sleep mode, wherein the traffic indication message includes sleep identifiers, SLPIDs, and positive indications for a plurality of MSSs, the number of SLPIDs being identical to the number of the positive indications, wherein each of the positive indications represents that traffic is directed to a corresponding MSS.
  3. 7
A base station adapted to perform all the method steps of one of claims 1 to 2.
  4. 8
A mobile subscriber station (900, 1000, 1100, 1303, 1305, 1307) adapted to perform all the method steps of one of claims 3 to 6.
