  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 03106893 A2 CLAIMS Having described the invention, the following is claimed:1. A light beam preparation arrangement for preparing a light beam as the beam proceeds along a stream path from a source toward utilization, the arrangement including: a light tunnel, downstream of the source, receiving the light beam at an input end of the tunnel and transforming the light beam to have a desired intensity distribution at an output end of the tunnel;a rotatable unit, in the light stream path with the beam impinging thereon, having a plurality of portions, each portion having a different optical characteristic;a drive unit rotating the rotatable unit;and a fixation rigidly attaching the light tunnel directly to the drive unit.
  2. 16
A light beam preparation arrangement for preparing a light beam as the beam proceeds along a stream path from a source toward utilization, the arrangement including:a light tunnel, downstream of the source, receiving the light beam at an input end of the tunnel and transforming the light beam to have a desired intensity distribution at an output end of the tunnel;a rotatable unit, in the light stream path with the beam impinging thereon, having a plurality of portions, each portion having a different optical characteristic;a drive unit rotating the rotatable unit;and means for controlling temperature of the light tunnel.
  3. 23
An arrangement as set forth in claiml 6, wherein the rotatable unit is downstream of the light tunnel and is is spaced a distance from the output end of the light tunnel, the arrangement includes means for controlling the distance between the output end of the light tunnel and the rotatable unit.
  4. 27
A light beam preparation arrangement for preparing a light beam as the beam proceeds along a stream path from a source toward utilization, the arrangement including:a light tunnel, downstream of the source, receiving the light beam at an input end of the tunnel and transforming the light beam to have a desired intensity distribution at an output end of the tunnel;a rotatable unit, in the light stream path with the beam impinging thereon, having a plurality of portions, each portion having a different optical characteristic, the rotatable unit being spaced a distance from the output end of the light tunnel;a drive unit rotating the rotatable unit;and means for controlling the distance between the output end of the light tunnel and the rotatable unit.
  5. 37
A light beam preparation arrangement for preparing a light beam as the beam proceeds along a stream path from a source toward utilization, the arrangement including:a light tunnel, downstream of the source, receiving the light beam at an input end of the tunnel and transforming the light beam to have a desired intensity distribution at an output end of the tunnel;a rotatable unit, in the light stream path with the beam impinging thereon, having a plurality of portions, each portion having a different optical characteristic, the rotatable unit being spaced a distance from the output end of the light tunnel;a drive unit rotating the rotatable unit;and means for controlling alignment between the light tunnel and the rotatable unit.
  6. 49
A light beam preparation arrangement for preparing a light beam as the beam proceeds along a stream path from a source toward utilization, the arrangement including:a hollow light tunnel, downstream of the source, receiving the light beam at an input end of the tunnel and transforming the light beam to have a desired intensity distribution at an output end of the tunnel;a rotatable unit, in the light stream path with the beam impinging thereon, having a plurality of portions, each portion having a different optical characteristic;a drive unit rotating the rotatable unit;and a gas flow though the light tunnel.
