A memory management unit that manages a memory (2) and sets that code which is stored in the memory (2) and which is to be executed is valid to make a processor (1) execute the code, comprising:a page table (11) including a plurality of entries each corresponding to a page in said memory (2);a verification-key storing unit (15) that stores a verification key used to verify validity of the code, a verifying unit (16) that verifies the validity of the code;a control unit (13) that sets that the code is valid when the validity is verified by the verifying unit (16), and does not set that the code is valid when the validity is not verified by the verifying unit (16), wherein the verifying unit (16) verifies the validity of the code after the code is stored in the memory (2) and ready to be executed by the processor (1) but before the code is executed by using the verification key stored in the verification-key storing unit (15) and verification information assigned to the code, characterised in that : the control unit (13) sets that the code is valid when the validity is verified by the verifying unit (16) by setting an execution bit and an effective bit in a said entry in said page table (11) corresponding to a page in which the code to be verified is stored, and does not set that the code is valid when the validity is not verified by the verifying unit (16) by not setting the execution bit and the effective bit in said entry, wherein the execution bit indicates that code, not data, is stored in said corresponding page and the effective bit indicates that said corresponding page is valid, such that when the control unit (13) sets the execution bit and the effective bit, the processor (1) is allowed to execute the code, and when the control unit (13) does not set the execution bit and the effective bit, the processor (1) is not allowed to execute the code.
