  1. 1
A method for driving and controlling a permanent magnet type synchronous motor (10) for a vehicle, wherein a battery voltage (VB) is converted to a current command (Id*, Iq*) based on a torque command (T*) and is supplied to the permanent magnet type synchronous motor (10), by a power converter (14) connected to the permanent magnet type synchronous motor (10) the method comprising the steps of:determining, based on vehicle information received from individual parts of the vehicle, the torque command (T*) indicating a target value of torque to be output from the motor (10);determining the current command (Id*, Iq*) based on the torque command (T*);obtaining, in accordance with the current command (Id*, Iq*), a direct current voltage (V) which is needed at the input of the power converter to achieve the torque command (T*) and a motor revolution (N) included in the vehicle information;comparing the motor terminal voltage (V) and the battery voltage (VB);and when a condition of V > VB is met, supplying to the power converter the battery voltage (VB) suitably boosted by a booster (24) connected between the battery (12) and the power converter (14).
  2. 2
A driving controller for controlling a permanent magnet type synchronous motor for a vehicle, which has a speed voltage, using a power converter that is connected between a battery and the permanent magnet type synchronous motor and converts a battery voltage to a motor current, wherein a torque command (T*) indicating a target value of torque to be output from the motor is determined based on vehicle information received from individual parts of the vehicle, and a battery voltage (VB) is converted to a current command (Id*, Iq*) based on the torque command (T*) and is supplied to the permanent magnet type synchronous motor by the power converter, said driving controller comprising:a booster for boosting said battery voltage before being supplied to said power converter according to a command;judgment means for judging, based on the comparison of a direct current voltage (V) which is needed at the input of the power converter obtained in accordance with the current command (Id*, Iq*) to achieve the torque command (T*) and a motor revolution (N) included in the vehicle information, said battery voltage (VB), and a value of a voltage boosted by the booster, whether or not a target operating point for said permanent magnet type synchronous motor which has an operable region determined based on a motor torque T and a revolution N, is in an output range thereof;and extending means for, when a condition of V > VB is met, extending said output range so as to cover the target operating point by issuing a command concerning a boost ratio to said booster according to the location of said target operating point and based on a speed voltage so that the battery voltage (VB) is boosted and is supplied to the permanent magnet type synchronous motor.
