Method and system for automatic activation of a wireless device

A method of activating a non-activated wireless communication device (30) in a wireless service system includes the step of receiving information comprising at least one transmitted pre-programmed parameter transmitted from the non-activated wireless communication device (30). The transmitted pre-programmed parameter is programmed into the wireless communication device (30) before a subscriber receives the non-activated wireless communication device (30). The method further comprises identifying a database record using the at least one transmitted pre-programmed parameter, and activating the wireless communication device (30) based on an evaluation of the identified database record.
