Measuring probe (S), having means for accessing the data flows consisting of packets, transmitted along a path formed by a plurality of equipment of a telecommunication network, and measuring means (SM) to perform measurements according to configuration information (BC), with additional means of determination (SD) to determine that one or more transmitted packets form a signaling message and signaling means (SS) to determine from this signaling message the configuration information.
