EP1429480A2

Cellular phone with improved receiver sensitivity

Abstract

A cellular phone includes a radio circuit block (102), and a control block (105) including a CPU (1057) for controlling operations of the cellular phone and treating data for the cellular phone. The control block (105) retains an interrupt signal when the radio circuit block (102) receives a radio signal, and delivers the interrupt signal to the CPU (1057) after completion of the receipt of the radio signal by the radio circuit block.

  1. 1
A cellular phone comprising:a radio circuit block (102) including an antenna (101);an analog baseband block (103) connected to said radio circuit block (102);a digital baseband block (104) connected to said analog baseband block (103);and a control block (105) for controlling operation of said blocks (102, 103, 104), said control block (105) including a central processing unit (CPU: 1057), said radio circuit block (102) receiving a radio signal through said antenna (101) during a receiving slot, characterized in that : said control block (105) stops operation of said CPU (1057) during said receiving slot.
  2. 9
A cellular phone comprising:a radio circuit block (102) including an antenna (101);an analog baseband block (103) connected to said radio circuit block (102);a digital baseband block (104) connected to said analog baseband block (103);at least one of display block (110) and camera block (114), and a control block (105) for controlling operation of said blocks (102, 103, 104, 105), said control block (105) including a central processing unit (CPU: 1057), said radio circuit block (102) receiving a radio signal through said antenna during a receiving slot, characterized in that : said at least one of display block (110) and camera block (114) stops data transmission through an associated bus (1106, 1146) during said receiving slot.
  3. 11
A method for controlling a cellular phone having a CPU for controlling operation of the cellular phone and treating data in the cellular phone, said method characterized by the step of:detecting a receiving slot to activate a receiving frame signal;retaining an interrupt signal during a time interval when said receiving frame signal is active;delivering said interrupt signal to the CPU after said receiving frame signal is inactivated;and operating said CPU for processing corresponding to said interrupt signal.
  4. 14
A program stored in a medium for running on a CPU in a cellular phone, characterized by defining the steps of:detecting a receiving slot to activate a receiving frame signal;retaining an interrupt signal during a time interval when said receiving frame signal is active;delivering said interrupt signal to the CPU after said receiving frame signal is inactivated;and operating said CPU for processing corresponding to said interrupt signal.
