  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 0250203 A2 CLAIMS 1. A coating composition comprising (a) a reactive component which is substantially free of any heteroatoms and is not a crystalline solid at room temperature comprising (i) from 12 to 72 carbon atoms, and (ii) at least two functional groups, and (b) a crossliriking agent comprising a plurality of functional groups (iii) reactive with the functional groups (ii) of compound (a), wherein functional groups (ii) and (iii) are selected such that reaction there between produces a thermally irreversible chemical linkage.
  2. 65
A method of making a cured coated subfrate having improved scratch and mar resistance, comprising applying a coating composition to a substrate to make a coated substrate, the coating composition comprising (a) a reactive component which is not a crystalline solid at room temperature and is substantially free of any heteratoms, and comprising (i) from 12 to 72 carbon atoms, and (ii) at least two functional groups, and (b) a crosshnking agent comprising a plurality of functional groups (iii) reactive with the functional groups (ii) of compound (a) and which, upon reaction with at least one of the functional groups (ii) of compound (a), forms a thermally irreversible chemical linkage, and curing the curing the coated substrate to provide a cured coated substrate. 66. A coating composition comprising (a) a reactive component which is substantially free of any heteroatoms, comprises a mixture of at least one ahphatic compound, at least one aromatic containing compound, and at least one cycloaliphatic containing compound and comprises (i) from 12 to 72 carbon atoms, and (ii) at least two functional groups, and (b) a crossliriking agent comprising a plurahty of functional groups (iii) reactive with the functional groups (ii) of compound (a), wherem functional groups (ii) and (iii) are selected such that reaction there between produces a thermally irreversible chemical.
