Stereo Multiplex Encoder (MPX) for FM Transmission

Abstract

The invention relates to a stereo multiplex encoder (MPX) for FM transmission with a digital signal processor. The invention is characterized in that vestigial sideband modulation is used instead of the usual double sideband modulation in stereo transmission, and that the sampling frequency is tuned to the modulation frequency (fmod = fs / 2), whereby the anti-aliasing filter of the DAC can be used which generates the vestigial modulated signal.
