  1. 1
A cell search control method by which a mobile station searches for a perch channel transmitted by a base station to capture and receive the perch channel, and determines which base station to communicate with or to be on standby for, said cell search control method being characterised in comprising:a measuring step (S601) of measuring the transmission power of a signal to be transmitted to each of the base stations that the mobile station currently communicates with or is currently on standby for;an obtaining step (S601) of obtaining, with respect to the transmission powers measured by said measuring step (S601), the lowest transmission power;and a control step (S602-S608) of determining the frequency of searching for a new perch channel in response to the lowest transmission power obtained by said obtaining step (S601) such that when the lowest transmission power is high, the frequency of searching for the new perch channel is high, whereas when the lowest transmission power is low, the frequency of searching for the new perch channel is low.
  2. 2
A mobile station (312) which searches for a perch channel transmitted by a base stations (311-1 - 311-4) to capture and receive the perch channel, and determines which base stations (311-1 - 311-4) to communicate with or to be on standby for, said mobile station (312) being characterised by comprising:measuring means (720) for measuring the transmission power of a signal to be transmitted to each of base stations (311-1 - 311-4) that the mobile station (312) currently communicates with or is currently on standby for;obtaining means (738) for obtaining, with respect to the transmission powers measured by said measuring means (720), the lowest transmission power;and control means (732) for determining the frequency of searching for a new perch channel in response to the lowest transmission power obtained by said obtaining means (738) such that when the lowest transmission power is high, the frequency of searching for the new perch channel is high, whereas when the lowest transmission power is low, the frequency of searching for the new perch channel is low.
