  1. 1
A power converter including a zero-current, zero-voltage switching (ZC-ZVS) cell, said ZC-ZVS cell having a first terminal (A), a second terminal (B) and a third terminal (C), said ZC-ZVS cell comprising:a diode (403);a first switch (402) coupled between said second terminal and an anode of said diode (403);a second switch (404) coupled between said second terminal (B) and a cathode of said diode (403;a capacitor (405) coupled between said third terminal (C) and said cathode of said diode (403);and an inductor (401) coupled between said anode of said diode (403) and said third terminal (C) characterized in that    said second switch (404) closes a first time interval (T0-T4) after the closing of said first switch (402), and subsequently opens a second time interval (T6-T7) after the opening of said first switch (402), wherein said first and second time intervals (T0-T4;T6-T7) are determined by the selection of    the value of the capacitance of said capacitor (405), the value of the inductance of said inductor (401), the value of the output capacitance (601) of said second switch (404) and    the value of the junction capacitance (602) of a boost rectifier (406) connected to said third terminal (C) so that said first switch (402) and said second switch (404) close under substantially zero-voltage conditions.
  2. 10
A power converter as in any one of Claims 1 to 9, wherein said first switch (402) comprises an insulated gate bipolar transistor.
  3. 11
