Pipe coupling

A pipe coupling for connecting pipes (1) with non-profiled (2) end sections consists of an elastomeric sealing sleeve (3) for tight receiving the Rohrendabschnitte and a sealing sleeve (3) surrounding clamp (4) with a clamp band (5), at its ends Clamping jaws (6) are formed, which are contractible by clamping means (8). The clamp band (5) has on its front sides inwardly projecting flanges (9), and between the sealing sleeve (3) and the flanges (9) are on the inside of the clamp band (5) supporting clamping rings (13) arranged in C-shape which engage during clamping of the clamp band (5) by means of projections on its radially inner surface (14) in the tube material. In order to simplify the formation of the clamping rings (13), they consist essentially of plastic, whereby they largely fill the spaces between the sealing sleeve (3) and the flanges (9). They may be formed in one piece or from two ring parts (13a, 13b), of which the radially inner (13b) may consist of a brass alloy. The projections may be formed as circumferential ribs (20).
