The invention relates to a method for selecting a terminal to analog subscriber lines in which by a terminal of a calling party (3,4) to an analog or digital subscriber line device selection information in addition to the phone number of the called party (5,6) and sent out this equipment selection information to the subscriber terminal of called party (5,6). The terminals (61, 62, 63, 64) at the called subscriber (5, 6) evaluate this device selection information and only the terminal is activated, whose own device selection information stored in a memory agrees with the received device selection information.
