Electrophotographic elements containing preferred pigment particle size distribution

Abstract

An electrophotographic element comprising an electrically conductive support, a barrier layer and a photoconductive layer containing a polymeric binder having dispersed therein charge generating pigments (a) selected from the group consisting of titanyl fluorophthalocyanines and cocrystalline mixtures of titanyl fluorophthalocyanine and unsubstituted titanyl phthalocyanine and (b) having a particle size from 0.05 to 0.7 µm, up to 30% of the particles are smaller than 0.15 µm and less than 8% of such particles are larger than 0.6 µm.
