13 claims: 9 independent, 4 dependent

  1. 1
Composite rubber particles comprising an isobutylene polymer and a vinyl polymer, characterized in that molecular chains of said isobutylene polymer and vinyl polymer are intertwined with each other so that both polymers cannot be separated substantially from each other wherein the average particle size of the composite rubber particles is in the range of from 0.05 to 10 µm.
  2. 3
The composite rubber particles of Claims 1 or 2, which comprise 1 to 99 % by weight of the isobutylene polymer and 99 to 1 % by weight of the vinyl polymer.
  3. 4
The composite rubber particles of any of Claims 1 to 3, wherein said isobutylene polymer has an allyl group and/or a silicon-containing group on at least one end of its molecular chain.
  4. 5
Graft copolymer particles of composite rubber, characterized in that at least one vinyl monomer is graft-polymerized to composite rubber particles, wherein the composite rubber particles comprise an isobutylene polymer and a vinyl polymer, wherein molecular chains of said isobutylene polymer and vinyl polymer are intertwined with each other so that both polymers cannot be separated substantially from each other, and wherein the average particle size of said composite rubber particles is in the range of from 0.05 to 10 µm.
  5. 7
The graft copolymer particles of composite rubber of Claims 5 or 6, wherein said composite rubber particles comprise 1 to 99 % by weight of the isobutylene polymer and 99 to 1 % by weight of the vinyl polymer.
  6. 8
The graft copolymer particles of composite rubber of any of Claims 5 to 7, wherein said isobutylene polymer has an allyl group and/or a silicon-containing group on at least one end of its molecular chain.
  7. 9
The graft copolymer particles of composite rubber of any of Claims 5 to 8, wherein the amount of the composite rubber particles is from 30 to 95 % by weight on the basis of the weight of the graft copolymer particles of composite rubber.
  8. 10
The graft copolymer particles of composite rubber of any of Claims 5 to 9, wherein the graft efficiency of the vinyl monomer used for graft polymerization of the composite rubber particles is not less than 30 % by weight.
  9. 11
A thermoplastic resin composition comprising a thermoplastic resin and at least one member selected from composite rubber particles which comprise an isobutylene polymer and vinyl polymer and grafted copolymer particles which are prepared by graft-polymerizing the composite rubber particles with at least one vinyl monomer, wherein the average particle size of the composite rubber particles is in the range of from 0.05 to 10 µm.
