  1. 1
A fiber optics device comprising:a first optical member (2) obtained by integrating a plurality of parallel optical fibers (21) of a first type by bundling and having first and second end faces (22, 23) and an image transmitting direction defined by the axes of the fibers (21), the second end face (23) being substantially parallel to the first end face (22) thereof, and the optical fibers (21) of the first type having a first numerical aperture and cores with a first refractive index;and a second optical member (3) obtained by integrating a plurality parallel of optical fibers (31) of a second type by bundling and having first and second end faces (32, 33), the second optical member (3) having a second image transmitting direction along the axes of the second optical fibers disposed at a second oblique angle (θ3) to the end faces (32, 33), the second end face (33) being substantially parallel to the first end face (32) thereof, the optical fibers (31) of the second type having a second numerical aperture larger than the first numerical aperture and cores with a second refractive index, the fiber optics device characterised by ;the first optical member (2) having the image transmitting direction at a first oblique angle (θ2) to the end faces (22, 23), and the first end face (32) of the second optical member being bonded to the second end face (23) of the first optical member.
  2. 2
A fiber optics device according to Claim 1, wherein the first oblique angle is set smaller than the second oblique angle.
  3. 3
A fiber optics device according to Claim 1, wherein the first refractive index is substantially equal to or less than the second refractive index.
  4. 4
A fiber optics device according to Claim 1, wherein light propagating through the first optical member and becoming incident on the first end face of the second optical member, light components having the maximum incident angle become incident on the boundary surface between the core and the cladding layer of the optical fibers of the second type at an incident angle equal to or larger than the critical angle.
  5. 5
A fiber optics device according to Claim 1, wherein the first and second optical fibers are of a substantially different width.
