Medical connection device
Abstract
The connection device for an infusion set consists of a connector (10) which has an internal trapezoidal section (11) with an insertion end (12) at its lower end. The insertion end accepts an external trapezoidal section (31) of a counter connector (30). The connector has a breakable seal (18) which blocks off the channel through the connector prior to breaking. The seal consists of a body (19) which is located on the end of a shaft (20). The under surface of the seal body is in contact with a film skin breaking line (22) on the counter connector piece. The shaft is moved by the counter connector and the seal is broken.

p0001The invention relates to a medical connection device, particularly for infusion devices for transferring an infusion fluid from a fluid reservoir to infusion device.
p0002Connecting devices are known in the form of a Luer lock connectors with inner cone. Such connectors are connected to mating connectors, which have a Luer-Lock outer cone. The connectors have a refractive seal that blocks the liquid passage and can be broken by hand to release the fluid passage. The refractive seal forms a warranty for the originality of the connecting device provided with the device and their content and further also a contamination barrier. In a connector in which the refractive seal is manually broken off, there is the risk of accidental breaking off of the crushing of the seal against Konnektion. It can leak through unintentional fluid through the connector.
p0003The invention has for its object to provide a medical connector device with refractive seal, when it is ensured that the refractive seal does not break accidentally.
p0004This object is inventively by the features specified in claim. 1
p0005In the terminal device of the invention the refractive seal is contained in or on the connector to a point where it is not accessible from outside. The seal has a refractive connected to the connector via a predetermined breaking line locking body, protrudes at the insertion end of the inner cone of the rod in one direction. This rod ends in the connector in an axial distance from the spigot so that it is with the fingers can not be reached, is moved during insertion of the outer cone of a counter connector, however, and tearing. This ensures that the insertion of the outer cone of the mating connector at the same time automatically breaks off the crushing seal. Since the bar is located in the inner cone of the connector, it is not accessible by hand, so that it can be achieved only with the counter connector and operated.
p0006The connecting device according to the invention is particularly suitable for infusion containers, for example bags containing an infusion liquid. By crushing seal the bag content is tamper true closed. On the other hand, the terminal device is also suitable for hoses and other fluid transfer devices.
p0007In the following an embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the drawings.
p0008Show it:

Fig. 1

a longitudinal section through the connector in the originality and state

FIG. 2

a longitudinal section through the connector with inserted counter connector with torn blocking body.

p0009The connection device shown comprises a connector 10 in the form of an elongated tube, which is provided with an internal cone eleventh One end of the inner cone 11, the shank 12 forms a counter-connector. On the inner cone 11 a cylindrical tube section 13 follows, which runs in the interior of an approach 14th On the projection 14 a hose 15 fitted and glued to the approach 14th The connector 10 has an annular collar 16, against the end of the tube abuts the 15th The tube 15 is here part of an infusion bag containing an infusion solution. The connector 10 serves to connect the infusion bag to a hose that leads to an infusion apparatus.
p0010The connector 10 is configured as a Luer-Lock connector. It is externally provided in the vicinity of its male end 12 with threaded portions 17, to which a counter connector can be screwed on.
p0011The connector 10 is provided with a breaking seal 18, which is composed of a locking body 19 and an adjoining shank 20th The locking body 19 is arranged at the end facing away from the insertion end 12 of the connector 21 in the extension of the channel thirteenth The lock body 19 projects above the end 21 addition, while the shaft 20 extends through the channel 13 into the inner plug 11 into it.
p0012The locking body 19 generally has the shape of a cone, the rod 20 adjoins the base surface of the cone. The periphery of the base surface of the cone is connected via a film consisting of a skin line of weakness 22 with the approach fourteenth The predetermined breaking line 22 forms a closed ring which liquid-tightly closes the channel 13 together with the locking body 19 and constitutes the only connection of the breaking seal 18 to the connector body. The conical surface of the locking body 19 is provided with a rib structure 11, which prevents the torn from the connector 10 crushing seal 18, if it swims in the infusion bag, can lie sealingly against the end 21 of the connector. The rod 20 extends coaxially in the connector, wherein between the periphery of the rod and the channel 13, a free space is available, so that the rod channel 13 does not close. The rod 20 is provided with a ribbed profile 23, to ensure that the rod does not block the fluid passage.
p0013The rod 20 ends at a distance from the insertion end 12 in the interior of the inner cone 11. The insertion end 12 is closed with a contamination-tight frangible seals 24, to ensure the sterility of the interior of the connector 10th
p0014The connector 10 is made together with the breaking seal 18 in one piece from plastics material, the predetermined breaking line 22 is an integral part of the plastic part.
p0015In FIG. 2 illustrates the state that a counterpart connector 30 is connected to the connector 10th The counter connector 30 has a male taper 31 that is inserted to fit into the inner cone 10, and an internally threaded 32 screw socket 33 which is screwed onto the threaded portions 17 of the connector 10th The counter connector 30 extends longitudinally a channel 34 to the front end 35 of the outer cone 31st
p0016When connection of the mating connector 30 to the connector 10 of the outer cone 31 is inserted into the inner cone 11, wherein it abuts against the end of the rod 20th After the threaded parts 17 are engaged with the internal thread 32 in engagement, the counter connector 30 is rotated while the connector 10 is fixed. In this case, the outer cone 31 penetrates in the inner cone 11 before further wherein the refractive seal 18 breaks off at the predetermined breaking line 22nd Here, the locking body 19 is pushed away and detached from the approach 14th By the rib profile of the rod 20 ensures that in this position, the channel 34 is not obstructed by the rod 20th
p0017If the refractive seal 18 after opening enter the infusion container and rotated in the infusion resulting suction through 180 ° back in place on the connector 10, the rib structure 22 allows the flow of infusion fluid.
