  1. 1
Claims of equivalent WO 9535377 A2 Claims A polynucleotide molecule, comprising a nucleotide sequence that encodes a formyl-CoA transferase polypeptide, or a fragment or variant thereof.
  2. 6
A method for determining the presence or concentration of oxalate in a fluid sample, said method comprising the steps of contacting the sample with oxalyl- CoA decarboxylase followed by formyl-CoA transferase, and then detecting the presence or absence of formate in the reaction using a signal-generating system correlated to the amount of formate produced.
  3. 7
A method for determining the presence or concentration of oxalate in a fluid sample, comprising the steps of:(a) contacting the sample with oxalyl-CoA decarboxylase, oxalyl-CoA, β- NAD, and formate dehydrogenase;(b) incubating the admixture of step (a) for about two minutes at about 37°C;(c) contacting the admixture with formyl-CoA transferase;and (d) detecting the presence or absence of formate colorimetrically.
  4. 9
A kit for use in an assay for detecting the presence or concentration of oxalate in a fluid sample, comprising in one or more containers:(a) the reager s oxalyl-CoA decarboxylase, oxalyl-CoA, β-NAD, and formate dehydrogenase;and (b) the reagent formyl-CoA transferase.
  5. 10
A polynucleotide molecule, comprising a nucleotide sequence that encodes a oxalyl-CoA decarboxylase polypeptide, or a fragment or variant thereof.
  6. 15
A polynucleotide probe, comprising a nucleotide sequence that is substantially complementary with a polynucleotide sequence present in an Oxalobacter formigenes genome.
  7. 18
A polynucleotide PCR primer, comprising a nucleotide sequence that is substantially complementary with a polynucleotide sequence present in an Oxalobacter form igenes genome, wherein said PCR primer is capable of priming PCR amplification of said polynucleotide sequence present in said Oxalobacter formigenes genome.
