Coating composition

Abstract

A coating composition comprising a rosin compound, a polymer containing organosilyl ester groups, and an antifoulant as essential components is disclosed. This rosin-based coating composition gives a coating film which forms no residue layer on the surface thereof over long-term immersion, is hence free from physical defects such as cracks and peeling and capable of maintaining a sufficiently high rate of film erosion and preventing the attachment of marine organisms over long, has satisfactory suitability for recoating, and has the satisfactory ability to prevent marine-organism attachment over the out-fitting period.
