Bidirectional data exchange (protocol) between a telecommunications exchange and a terminal
Abstract

The invention relates to a method for bi-directional exchange of application, control and information data between at least one central facility and at least one installed with a participant analog terminal according to claim 1 and an analog terminal device according to claim 7, which via an analog line to a central facility connectible and can exchange data with this application, control and information data.
In modern digital communications systems are exchanged between a PBX or a network node and a turned-in a customer terminal in addition to the information on the configuration of the respective subscriber line also state data on the existing between the PBX and the terminal connection. Depending on the performance of the phone, this information is of a more or less comfortable user interface available. In the known installations digital transmission methods are used to transmit voice and control information together via a digital interface. The phones used in these systems must be tailored to the vendor-specific transmission method and the transmission protocols.
To increase the comfort of an analog subscriber line, additional information is transmitted in a standardized manner over analog lines. Because of standardized, system-specific transmission methods and protocols, it is not possible, multi-vendor analog terminal equipment at central facilities, such as to turn to a switching center, a telecommunication system or a central control device (DV-conditioning, host).
The invention is therefore based on the object, the convenience of an analog subscriber line further enhance and increase the flexibility of analogue, central facilities, such. As analog communications systems.
The technical problem the invention solves the process steps of claim 1 and the features of claim 7. Advantageous further developments are defined in the dependent claims.
The invention teaches to implement the central facility, such as a PBX, a switch or a DP system with a quasi-independent interface protocol, so that they can exchange data with different, vendor-independent, analog terminal equipment. Advantageously, standard analog phones comfort and traditional centralized facilities are used. In this way, a system-specific adaptation of the devices can be avoided.
The analog, installed at the user terminal only needs a control unit for processing the application, control and information data, a display showing the control and information data, an input field, about including the programming of the central device can be carried out, a modem or DTMF means via which the analog terminal connection to an analog line is connectable and via which the bi-directional data exchange with the central device. Moreover, the analog terminal device to a memory in which the necessary control for bidirectional data exchange software is loaded for example from the associated central facility. Instead of loading the control software and communications protocols of the central device in the memory of the terminal, the analog terminal device may be configured for receiving and reading a smart card that stores the corresponding protocols and corresponding control software and similar in the communication between the central facility and the can embed terminal. A programmable controller accepts the analog terminal equipment to monitor and control the data exchange between the analog terminal and the central facility. The analog means is advantageously designed such that a user can load a graphic and / or alphanumeric user interface from the associated central facility or from a chip card into the memory. The user does so on its analog terminal via all the questions put by the central device available performance. In particular, the user can receive and view information about the connection state of the current configuration of the central device or the application during an existing connection. In addition, the user is able to interactively control the performance characteristics of the central facility or to exchange application data. Thanks to the invention it is also possible to configure the central facility from the analogue terminal device of user-controlled. For example, a user may activate on its analog terminal the feature "call forwarding" in the central device.
The invention is described below with reference to an embodiment in conjunction with the accompanying FIGURE.
In the figure, as an analog terminal a telephone set 10 shown, which is constructed from components known per se. These are, for example, an alphanumeric display device 20, an input field 30, a modem, such. As an FSK modem or DTMF means for connecting the telephone set 10 to the a / b wires 120 an analog line. Moreover, the telephone set 10 a controller 50 and a memory 60, in the example, the application-specific software and interface independent transmission protocols of an associated telecommunications device 100 or a central control device 150 can be loaded. A smart card reader 70 may be provided to the read out in an inserted smart card stored control software and stored interface independent transmission protocols or to support appropriate communication applications. The telephone set 10 is connected via the a / b wires 120 to 100, the PBX. The PBX 100 has per se known components. These include an analog interface in the form of a modem, via the PBX 100 to the a / b wires 120 is connectable. The PBX 100 may additionally include an analog or digital interface via which it can be connected to a central office 140th Advantageously, can be installed in the PBX 100 with the feature "Remote Administration" software. This requires the PBX 100 only still a flash EPROM.
The telephone set 10 may additionally include a display device, not shown, on a graphical user interface is displayed. Although the present embodiment a telephone set 10 shows, which is interfaced to a PBX 100, it is conceivable also to turn on the telephone set 10 directly to the switching device 140th This is particularly useful when only the features remote control, remote operation, remote support, remote maintenance and management are applied. According to an interface-independent protocol ensures that a user on his telephone set 10, for example via the input field 30 can load a graphic, alphanumeric user interface of the associated PBX 100 in the memory 60 of his telephone set 10th The agreed between the PBX 100 and the telephone set 10 transmission protocol further allows a user via the input field 30, the PBX can directly configure 100th The user can activate the PBX 100, for example, the feature "call forwarding" or "Conference". Another possibility is even is to configure both the PBX 100 and the analog telephone set 10 of the central control device 150, or exchange application and control data between the analog telephone set 10 and the central control device 150th The inventive system can be configured so that the application, control and / or information data on the a / b wires 120 of the analog line or alternatively may be transmitted on the E and W wires. This also increases the performance comfort, as can be transmitted via the a / b wires 120 user data simultaneously.
