Graphic processing apparatus

A graphic processing apparatus controls highlighting states of regions by providing differences in color and hatching densities to regions in accordance with an area and degree of importance of the region for high-quality coloring and hatching. The graphic processing apparatus comprises manuscript-picture holding means (1) for temporarily storing a manuscript picture; region extracting means (2) for extracting a plurality of regions to be colored from the manuscript picture temporarily stored in the manuscript-picture holding means; determining means (3) for determining region either for colors hatching to be applied to the regions extracted by the region extracting means (2) that are colors are differentiated from each other by differences in attributes; and output-picture generating means (4) for generating an output picture for the manuscript picture.
