Abstract
The amount of a fluid medium, e.g. water, is determined at several measuring points which each include a flowmeter (3,5,6,7). Each flowmeter includes ultrasonic sensors (22a,22b). The flowmeters are connected to a central electronic unit (11) which includes a transmitter and receiver for the ultrasonic sensors. The flow meters include a temp. sensor whose reading is sent to the central electronic unit for calculating an energy value. The electronic unit also has an output device for the detected flow values. The output device is a display or an interface. The electronic unit has a switch (23) for cyclically activating the flow meters.
