Method of making laminated sheets
Abstract
The method uses a first foil in the form of successively arranged, individualised foil strip sections (2) and a second foil in the form of an endless foil strip (1) are brought together. The foil strip sections are arranged one behind the other and sepd from each other at defined points of the endless foil strip with which they are adhered. The foil strip sections are arranged beneath the endless foil section. On the foil strip sections and the endless foil strip position markings are arranged one above the other by means of guide pins (8). The foils are adhered to one another on approximately the half of the length of the foil strip section.

p0001The invention relates to a method for producing a metal foil and a plastic film containing the film composite, in which the punched structures to each other out and having foils are glued together.
p0002From WO-92/15118 it is known to bring two foil webs to each other such that marks of the stamping foil web are arranged at the same position of the film composite, such as the punching marks of the second film web. Given the position of the punch marks is monitored and a possible offset between the punch marks of the two film webs is compensated for by the size of this offset is measured and the two film webs are loaded before the joining of a different temperature in accordance with this size to caused by the resulting differential expansion of the two film webs to compensate for the offset. In addition, a film web can be subjected to a tensile stress, so that the elongation produced thereby this film web contributes to compensate the offset. Such a process requires a complicated apparatus in order to realize the different temperature treatment of the two film webs and to ensure that required temperature changes can be made in a very short time in order to keep the portion of the film composite having this offset, as small as possible can , The control circuit required for such a regulation to changes in temperature or tensile stresses is very complicated and slow to react normally. Furthermore, it is problematic to firmly connect two films under such initial conditions with each other because thermomechanical stresses between the two film webs occurring after discontinuation of traction or by adjusting the temperatures of the two film webs in this composite film, which can result in the film composite deformed or that solve the two film webs from each other. A similar method is known from DE 29 39 014th Here the position of the two film webs is mutually controlled by changing the feed rate of the film webs.
p0003Starting from the above-described prior art, the object of the present invention to provide a method by which a metal foil and a plastic film may be connected such that with a lesser effort as possible, the offset between the punched structures of the two sheets as low as possible is maintained.
p0004According to the invention the object is solved for the above-characterized method characterized in that a first film in the form of successive, separated film web portions, and a second film in the form of an endless foil web are together guided, wherein the film web sections one after the other and separated from each other at defined positions of the endless film web are arranged and bonded with her. This solves the problem of the increasing offset in the bonding of two endless film webs is eliminated. On an infinite sheet limited film web portions of a second film are applied, wherein, in each sheet section a defined alignment occurs. An error that possibly occurs in a sheet section, does not continue to further sheet portions, and therefore remains extremely limited locally. The following film web portion is applied again in a defined position on the endless film web. Such a prepared composite film, as it is for example used for the production of IC card, thus has a very high accuracy. Preferably, the metal foil is formed as an endless web of film, since the metal foil is, inter alia, mechanically robust and stable than a plastic film.
p0005In an expedient embodiment of the method, the films are clocked out together, for example, in that a gripper system clock, the sheet portions after separation from an endless belt zoom leads to the endless sheet, while it is desirable that the film web portions below the endless film web at this to be ordered.
p0006It is expedient, furthermore, that arranged on the sheet sections and the continuous sheet position markings by means of guide pins are arranged one above the other, as this is a very accurate positioning can be realized in a simple manner.
p0007It has proved advantageous that the films in a first step attached to each other after the stringing Run on a part of their contact surfaces and are bonded over the entire surface with each other in a second step, in particular, that the films are adhered to one another approximately at half the length of the film web portions, conveniently, the central portion of a film web portion is attached to the endless film web. This provides a very quick and accurate fixation of the two films is another possible so that the films can not shift against each other during the whole-surface bonding. In particular, it is expedient that the films thermally, so when heated to be bonded. For this purpose, the known hot melt adhesive can be used. After the thermal bonding of the composite film can be further treated thermally. As appropriate, it has been particularly proven in terms of a use of the composite film for the manufacture of IC cards to use about 200 mm long film web sections.
p0008The invention of an exemplary embodiment is explained in detail by means of a drawing. In the drawings

figure 1

the schematic representation of an apparatus for performing the method according the erfindungsge in plan view and

figure 2

the schematic representation of the production of the film composite from the side.

p0009A metal sheet 1 and a plastic film 2 are each wound on a spool. Both films 1; 2 have longitudinally of the film web at uniform intervals repetitive punching structures. The films are of clock feeders 3; unwound 4 of the coil and fed to further processing. The plastic film 2 is separated in the separator 5 in about 200 mm long film web sections. Each such sheet portion is detected in the pulse of the clock feed unit 4 by a gripper 6 and supplied to the thermal finisher. 7 At the same time and in the same cycle, the continuous sheet of metal foil 1 thermal finisher 7 is supplied by the clock feed unit. 3 The particular film web section 2 is arranged below the metal foil. 1
p0010Guide pins 8 (also called position pins) engage on two sheets 1, a 2 disposed position markings, so that this position marks exactly superposed and thus precisely positioned.
p0011After positioning the two sheets 1 are; 2 point-adhered to each other over a length of about 100 mm at the central region of the film web portion 2 in about 1 to 2 seconds at about 170 ° C. It is possible also a stitch at the corners of the film web portion of the second After this operation, the film web of the metal foil 1 is forwarded to the attached film web portion of the plastic film 2 in the clock of the clock feed unit 3 to the bonding station. 9 There, the two film webs 1 are; 2 bonded in about 30 seconds at about 180 ° C over the entire surface of the sheet portion of the plastic film 2 together into a composite film firmly. Alternatively, bonding of, for. Example, 60 seconds duration at 150 ° C are possible. This film composite of metal foil 1 and plastic film 2 is, in turn, passed the same timing to the post-treatment station 10 and there treated at about 110 ° C heat with a conventional roll laminator. As the adhesive used conventional hot melt adhesive, such as a Zweikomponentenepoxidharz.
p0012After the production of the film composite that is wound on a coil for storage and transportation.
