Electrical connector for heated air window
Abstract
The current terminal has a conductor layer soldered to the surface of the windscreen via a solder foot and a wire filament flexible ribbon conductor section (1), fitted with a connector at one end. The connector has an insulating sleeve (13) and a contact pin (12), coupled to the ribbon conductor section via a coupling part (15) and a reduction piece (9), welded or soldered to the ribbon conductor section. The front end of the reduction section is formed as a narrow tongue (10) for connection to the coupling part, the latter pref. provided by a crimp connector and enclosed together with the reduction piece in an insulating shrink-fit sleeve (18).

The invention relates to an electrical connection element to be brazed on a conductive layer, itself placed on a glazing (especially for Automotive glazing fitted with electric heating system), member provided with a lug provided to the junction brazed, son of a segment Braided consists of a flat and flexible braid and finally a connector placed the end of the braided son segment.
The electrical connection elements of this type are widely employees with automobile rear windows with a system Heating, for which the heating resistors are placed, under the form of a paste to be cooked, on the glass surface by means of a process Screen printing to be baked later, to the bending temperature and quenching the glass. Of the collector strips, on which the terminal of electrical connection elements is brazed after cooking, are installed at the same time, during laying of the heating wires.
As regards one of the electrical connection elements described in EP 047 769 B1, the terminal solder consists of a piece metal, whose central part is bent and welded to the end of the son braided. The connector on the free end of the segment is braided son, meanwhile, a flat connector, to which is applied, when connecting on the power supply system, a complementary edge connector.
For another electrical connection element according, referred to in the EP 0374648 B1, one end of the braided son segment, which is consists of a flat braid, is separated in the middle, in the direction of the length, forming the solder lug, and the two arms thus created are curved in opposite directions and orthogonal to the son segment. Are born both ends of a brazed joint, which are used as such brazing of braided son segment. An edge connector, as a bracket is provided, for this model also at the other end of braided son segment.
However, it may be advantageous to use round contact cards instead of flat connectors. For these round contact pins, in fact, the fixing the braided son segment electrically conductive fixing is usually by means of a crimp connection at the base of the sheet connector. The crimping connection element consists, in time normal, a curved metal piece, the deformable sections around the end of the braided son segment, the same tip of son then being crimped between these sections. However, these connecting elements by crimping are not suitable for connection with a flat braid, so although, so far, only the usual round cables were used with Round contact sheets.
However, the electrical connecting elements of the type described at the beginning, have a braided son segment having the shape of a round cable, exhibit, also, various drawbacks. First, as regards braids round an effective seal between the cable lug and the solder can be carried out with the necessary steps for manufacturing safety. Indeed, the Round braid should first be expanded before or during welding, it causing an uncontrolled deformation of the cable bundle son. These irregularities occasionally lead to difficulties in welding with pod. In addition, robots solder which is used to braze the components electrical connection on the sheet of glass are simply not suitable for the treatment of electrical connection elements feature a cable round. And finally, these round cables show, for the same global section - which must be strong in proportion, due to the presence of an electric current relatively strong during operation of heated windows - a rigidity substantially higher than that of flat braids, which is source of problems when working the connecting elements electrical, and later, when connecting the heated window on the vehicle power supply.
The invention therefore aims to provide a connecting element Power, of the type described above, which is provided with a Record round contact while maintaining a braided son segment having the form a flat and flexible braid.
The electrical connection element according to the invention is distinguished in that the connector including the contact plug, is provided with a coupling and in that a metal reducing agent, which is welded or brazed to the ends of Braided son and whose front, reduced in width, is connected to the connector by a narrow tongue, is arranged between the braided son segment and the same connection.
It is preferable to shape the connection of the contact plug to allow connection by crimping the connector being crushed by deformation plastic on the narrow strip of the gearbox.
The various paragraphs of claim and the description below, supported by the perspective view of a particularly popular model, evoke other characteristics of the electrical connection element according to the invention.
The flexible segment of braided son 1 from a flat copper braid and may consist of son covered with tin. It has a section rectangular, with a width of 6 mm and a thickness of 0.8 mm. A rigid solder lug 3, made of a copper piece, is fixed, or welded in some cases, the end 2 of the segment 1, for example by means of ultrasonic welding. This terminal 3 will preferably be a copper coin silver 0.8 mm thick. Its length L can be about 25 mm and its width B of 4 mm. The central part 4 of the terminal is bent upward and thus forms a linker, bridge-shaped, between the two segments 5 of the terminal, whose lower surfaces are soldered to the layer conductive glass. A gear 9 is fixed to the other end 8 of Braided son of segment 1, and suitably by means of welding also ultrasonic. This reducer 9 can also be constituted of a piece of copper 0.8 mm thick and be covered with silver. It will preferably, on the end 8 connected to the braided son of segment 1, the same width as this son segment. Its width then decrease to the other end and form a narrow tongue 10, which may have 2 mm wide. The contact plug 12 is placed inside an insulating tube 13 and connected to a corresponding coupling connector when connected to the system the vehicle power supply. The construction of the plug 12 and the tube 13, and positioning and fixing the plug 12 in the same tube 13 may take radically different shapes and are not the object of the invention.
The contact plug 12 is provided on its rear end with a connection fitting by crimping 15. This connection by connection crimping (or pressing) 15 is made in the case presented a thin metal part and has two curved sections 16 that are folded against each other, so as to surround the tongue 10, and are joined by pressing this tongue 10 by means of an appropriate instrument.
1 Braided son segment is wrapped in a known way by a insulating sheath 18 which is deposited for example by a thermal process on this segment 1. The sheath 18 also covers the gear 9 and, at least in part, connection by crimping 15. It continued into the tube insulation 13, so that the whole of the electrical connection element, except the rigid pod 3 is completely electrically isolated.
