Portable and compact radiotelephone terminal

The present invention relates to a terminal compact portable radiotelephone.

Called telephone terminal having a camera including a headset, a microphone, a keyboard numbering and transceiver means. Such device must be as compact as possible in order to ready handling near the face the user during communications, and be as little bulky as possible during off communications.

Examples of documents describing such terminals, may be mentioned:<ul><li>FR-A-2601711, which describes a terminal foldable portable, consisting of two boxes, or boxes, each containing a number of components constituent of this terminal. One of these boxes contains in particular an earpiece and an independent source of energy electric. The other of these boxes contains particularly a microphone.</li><li>WO 91 14 332 describes a terminal folding portable, having a terminal radio, and a pager (or terminal paging), detachable from the radio terminal. The radio terminal is itself formed one hand a main body, in particular containing a source energy, and secondly of an articulated part containing in particular a microphone. On this articulated part can come to connect the pager.</li><li>US-A-5027394 also describes a foldable portable terminal, consisting of two boxes, each containing a number of components constituent of this terminal. One of these boxes contains especially a listener. The other of these boxes contains in particular a microphone. An energy source is otherwise provided in the portion of articulation between the two housings.</li><li>AU-B-8367691 which also describes a foldable portable radio terminal comprising two flat segments, each containing a number of constituent components of the terminal. One of these segments dishes in particular contains a listener. The other of these flat segments in particular contains a microphone, and a Removable battery pack.</li><li>Document Patent Abstracts of Japan, vol.17, No. 137 (E-1335) which also describes a radio telephone terminal folding portable formed of two elements, each containing a number of constituent components of the terminal. One of these elements in particular contains a micrcrophone and a battery. The other of these elements contained in especially a listener.</li></ul>

For food, the terminal often has a mounted removable battery pack so the side of housing that is opposite to the face during communication. The presence of the block gives the terminal a thickness enough important not conducive to good performance of the device during communications.

Furthermore, we know the portable terminals having a pallet intended to be placed substantially to the user's mouth to receive the sound of the voice. This palette contains the microphone, or is a simple inert reflector returning the sound to the microphone placed closer to the listener. A trend current is to achieve such a pivoting vane, of so that, apart from periods of use, the pallet be folded over the keyboard to shorten the overall length. To avoid lead to extra thickness further, the pallet is then carried as thin as possible.

The object of the invention is to provide an apparatus which is easier to handle while being more compact when unused.

According to the invention, the mobile telephone terminal portable, comprising a body, a battery pack removable, and a pallet, the pallet is hinged at the terminal body between an operating position in which it is located in front of the user's mouth and a folded position on the body, is characterized in that this palette is a reflector for returning the sound towards a microphone and in that the accumulator block constitutes itself said pallet.

With this arrangement, the body of the apparatus is further thickened by the battery pack. On the contrary, range becomes larger and its cross section is of the same order of magnitude as that of the body. The terminal is easier to grasp through his body more slim.

The palette becomes longer than in achievements earlier. If it is articulated, the terminal becomes shorter in the folded state, which then reduces its congestion. Indeed, the total length of the terminal when the pallet is deployed varies little because it is function of the distance between the mouth and the ear of a average user.

Other features and advantages of the invention become apparent from the following description relating to a non-limiting example.

In the example shown in the figures, the terminal comprises a body 1 whose one end face comprises a listener 2 in the vicinity of one of its ends. To his other end, the body 1 is hinged to a pallet folding 3 pivotally movable about an axis 4 between the deployed position shown in Figure 2 and the position folded shown in Figure 3. As shown in 1, the pivoting means comprise, for example two flanges 6 integral with the body 1 (Figure 1) which is articulated a 7 secured journal of a base 8 of the pallet 3 (Figures 2 and 3).

When the pallet 3 is deployed (bottom of Figure 1 and FIG 2), a front face 9 of the pedestal 8 is located in front of the mouth of the user currently communicating. The face 9 then sends the sound of the voice to a microphone 11 located on the front of the body 1 between the axis 4 and 2. The earphone sound path is illustrated by arrow 12.

When the armature 3 is in the folded position, it is folded against a part of the body front panel with the microphone 11 and a dial pad 13.

The terminal further comprises a storage block removable 14 which according to the invention is part integral of the pallet 3 when in the mounted state.

For this purpose, the base 8 is made in the form of a flattened rectangular tube open at one end face of its periphery on the side opposite to the axis 4 and closed on the side of the axis 4. The battery pack 14 fits in the manner of a drawer in the cuboid housing 16 defined by this tube. The end of insertion, a boss 17 of block 14 commits in a corresponding recess 18 of the inner wall of base 3 to make a releasable locking.

The block 14 contains a storage battery rechargeable cadmium / nickel, or preferably a accumulator battery of the type known as the Nickel-Metal-Hydrogen Ni (M) H, or even more preferably the type known as rechargeable Lithium. This order preferably corresponds to the increasing compactness of order.

The block 14 comprises on its front face, with respect to sense of commitment, at least two rigid contacts 19 which, when the block 14 is locked in the base 8, are Pressing two spring contacts 21 arranged at the bottom of housing 16. The two contacts 21 are connected by a cable 22 with flexible electronics located within the body 1. The cable 22 is preferably copper flat type.

The cable 22 may for example pass between the pin 7 and a cylindrical sector-shaped tongue 23 also integral with the base 8. The tongue 23 is coaxial 7 with the pin and surrounds it at a certain radial distance. The housing 1 has on its rear face a lip 24 providing a certain sealing with the tongue 23 regardless of the angular position of the base 8 about the axis 4 relative to the housing 1, and in particular in its two extreme positions.

The block 14 comprises at its end opposite the contacts 1 September rigid grip region 26 remains similar to outside the housing 16 when the block 14 is in position on duty.

The front of the body 1 has in the region which is covered with the pallet 3 in the folded position, a 27 recess of sufficient depth to accommodate the thickness of the folded pallet, so that one side rear 28 of the pallet 8 is substantially in extension of the portion not-hook 29 of the front face 1 when the blade is folded. As shown in 1, this region 29 comprises in addition to the earpiece 2, a display screen 31 enabling the user to collect certain information even when the pallet 8 is folded, while the terminal operates in the queue.

According to the invention the battery pack is itself the pallet and in particular defines the surface reflection of sound to the microphone. In this case, the base is only a short mount hinged to the body. We can even remove the base completely, the block then comprising means for snap joint on complementary means carried by the body 1, with a system of rotary contacts in this joint.
