15 claims: 3 independent, 12 dependent

  1. 1
A non-contact IC card (2) comprising:receiving antenna means (23) for receiving a signal transmitted from a reader/writer (1A);a receiver circuit (24) for demodulating the signal received by said receiving antenna means and for converting the demodulated signal into a received data signal;a control circuit (26) for performing data processing on the basis of the received data signal converted by said receiver circuit;a transmitter circuit (22) for forming a transmitted signal on the basis of a transmitted data signal supplied from said control circuit ;and transmitting antenna means (21) for transmitting the transmitted signal from said transmitter circuit to the reader/writer, characterized by means for transmitting dummy data (D1) as a first item of a data row.
  2. 4
A non-contact IC card as claimed in any one of the claims 1 to 3, wherein the receiver circuit is arranged for converting the demodulated received signal into a received data signal which occupies a given state for an integer number of time units, which time units each correspond to the signal width (T5) of one data bit.
  3. 7
An IC card according to any one of the claims 1 to 6, wherein said receiving antenna means and said transmitting antenna means include a common antenna circuit.
  4. 8
Data transmission system comprising a non-contact IC card (2) and a non-contact IC card reader/writer (1A), the non-contact IC card comprising:receiving antenna means (23) for receiving a signal transmitted from a reader/writer (1A);a receiver circuit (24) for demodulating the signal received by said receiving antenna means and for converting the demodulated signal into a received data signal;a control circuit (26) for performing data processing on the basis of the received data signal converted by said receiver circuit;a transmitter circuit (22) for forming a transmitted signal on the basis of a transmitted data signal supplied from said control circuit ;and transmitting antenna means (21) for transmitting the transmitted signal from said transmitter circuit to the reader/writer;the non-contact IC card reader/writer (1A) comprising: receiving antenna means (13) for receiving a signal transmitted from the non-contact IC card;a receiver circuit (14) for demodulating the signal received by said receiving antenna means and for converting the demodulated signal into a received data signal;a control circuit (16) for performing data processing on the basis of the received data signal converted by said receiver circuit;a transmitter circuit (12A) for forming a transmitted signal on the basis of a transmitted data signal supplied from said control circuit;and transmitting antenna means (11) for transmitting the transmitted signal from said transmitter circuit to the IC card, characterized in that the non-contact IC card further comprises means for transmitting dummy data (D1) as a first item of a data row, and in that the receiver circuit of the non-contact IC card reader/writer comprises an automatic gain control circuit (148) for controlling the amplification of the signal received so that the intensity of the dummy first data item is equal to a predetermined value.
  5. 11
Data transmission system as claimed in any one of the claims 8 to 10, wherein the receiver circuit of the non-control IC card reader/writer is further arranged for converting the demodulated received signal into a received data signal having a unit corresponding to the signal width of one data bit (T5).
  6. 14
Data transmission system according to any one of the claims 8 to 13, wherein said receiving antenna means and said transmitting antenna means of the non-contact IC card reader/writer include a common antenna circuit.
  7. 15
A data transmission method comprising the steps of:transmitting a data row from a non-contact IC card to a reader/writer;controlling the gain of amplification of a signal received by the reader/writer;and receiving the data row from the IC card;characterized in that the data row has a first data item as dummy data, the gain of amplification is controlled by an automatic gain control circuit so that the intensity of the dummy data received from the IC card is equal to a predetermined value, and the receiving of the data row comprises receiving the data row subsequent to the dummy data.
