Negative pressure air bearing slider

Abstract

The present invention provides a negative pressure air bearing slider having two side rails (20, 22), a cross rail (24), and a negative pressure cavity (28), which comprises a vented cavity arranged between the side rails so as to trail the cross rail in use, and characterised by a pair of isolation channels (30, 32) disposed between the negative pressure cavity and the side rails.
