EP0451028A2

Power train for four wheel drive vehicle.

Abstract

A driving power transfer system for a four-wheel drive vehicle, wherein the wheels on either front or rear end of the vehicle are driven by the power taken off from a transmission (6), while the power taken off from said transmission is distributed, by a driving power distribution unit (8), to the wheels on the other end of the vehicle, characterized by the fact that the case of this transfer system is divided into at least one main case (10-1) and at least one detachable side case (10-2) mounted on said main case (10-1), an intermediate shaft (24), connected to either the main shaft (20) of the transmission (6) or to the wheels on the front or rear end of the vehicle, and the input shaft (46) of the intermediate power distribution system, connected to the wheels on the other end of the vehicle, are installed so as to be supported by the said main case (10-1) and said side case (10-2), on the end of the main shaft (20), intermediate shaft (24) and input shaft towards the side case (10-2), detachable primary and secondary sets of intermediate gears interconnect these shafts with each other.
