16 claims: 7 independent, 9 dependent

  1. 1
Ultrasonic sensor unit for tracing and/or following an object, whereby a transducer transmits ultrasonic radiation in a specific area which is reflected against a reflection surface of an ultrasonic mirror and whereby ultrasonic mirror and/or transducer are movable such that the area to be scanned by said sensor unit is variable.
  2. 5
Ultrasonic sensor unit as claimed in any of the foregoing claims, whereby a motor for moving the reflecting surface is disposed beneath or at the side of the ultrasonic transducer.
  3. 7
Ultrasonic sensor unit as claimed in any of the claims 2-6, whereby the motor is an electric step motor.
  4. 8
Milking set provided with four milking cups, whereby an ultrasonic sensor unit is disposed centrally with respect to said four milking cups.
  5. 10
Element for positioning an animal, comprising :- one or more lying surface for retaining a paw of an animal;- one or more inclined surfaces next to said lying surface.
  6. 13
Terminal apparatus for an automatic milking system, provided with function keys, one key for each function of the automatic milking system, the functions comprising applying teat cups, quantities of feed, rinsing the teat etc.
  7. 15
A method for automatically milking one or more cows, using the positioning element according to any of the claims 10-12, in which a 'window' of predetermined size is stored in computer memory.
