Acceleration sensor for vehicles

An acceleration sensor, eg for automatically triggering occupant protection devices in vehicles with an acceleration-dependent liquid moved in a housing and with a detector responding to a critical acceleration value, contains a tube level which is oriented relative to the acceleration to be determined and a liquid and therein a display medium. The detector responds to the position of the acceleration medium within the fluid-dependent moving display medium.
