  1. 1
An information processing system comprising main memory means (11) for memorizing data, a plurality of processors (121 to 125) for processing the data read out of said main memory means (11), an extended buffer memory (15) operable to carry out a data transfer operation to and from said main memory means (11), and a system controller (13) intermediate between said processors (121 to 125) and said main memory means (11) and coupled to said extended buffer memory (15), each of said processors delivering, to said system controller (13), a data transfer instruction (DT) indicative of said data transfer operation between said main memory means (11) and said extended buffer memory (15), said extended buffer memory (15) being kept during the data transfer operation into a locked state of locking said data transfer operation to inhibit reception of the following data transfer instruction (DT), each of said processors (121 to 125) producing, prior to production of the data transfer instruction, a lock instruction of locking said extended buffer memory (15) into said locked state, characterized by said system controller comprising state signal producing means (131, 132, 36, 37) selectively supplied with said lock instruction issued from each of said processors (121 to 125) for producing a locked state signal representative of said locked state when said extended buffer memory (15) is kept into the locked state and, otherwise, for producing an available state signal representing that said extended buffer memory (15) is available;and first transferring means (31) for transferring each of said locked and said available state signals to each of said processors (121 to 125);dead lock state detecting means (28, 38) coupled to said state signal producing means for detecting a dead lock state signal of said extended buffer memory to produce an interruption signal representative of said dead lock state in said extended buffer memory (15);and second transferring means (32) for transferring said interruption signal back to each of said processors.
  2. 2
An information processing system as claimed in Claim 1, wherein said state signal producing means comprises:decoding means (26, 36) for detecting the lock instruction to produce an internal reception signal representative of reception of the lock instruction only when said available state signal is produced by said decoding means;and retaining means (37) for retaining said internal reception signal to produce said locked state signal during the data transfer operation carried out after reception of said lock instruction.
  3. 3
An information processing system as claimed in Claim or 2, wherein said processors comprise a plurality of arithmetic processors each of which issues the lock instruction prior to the data transfer request.
  4. 4
An information processing system as claimed in any of Claims 1 to 3, wherein said processors comprise a central processing unit and arithmetic processing units, each of which issues the lock instruction prior to the data transfer request.
  5. 5
An information processing system as claimed in any one of claims 1 to 4, wherein said dead lock state detecting means (28,38) comprises:signal generating means (28) for generating a specific signal of m bits simultaneously with the lock instruction;and dead lock detection means (38) coupled to said signal generating means for detecting said dead lock state of the extended buffer memory with reference to said specific signal.
