  1. 1
A film magazine assembling system comprising:a plurality of two-part magazine casing assembling chucks (20), each comprising a pair of chuck members (21,22) which can be selectively brought into a closed state and into an open state,    a plurality of supporting means (11,23), each supporting one of said magazine casing assembling chucks (20) and being arranged for bringing the supported magazine casing assembling chuck (20) either into the closed state or into the open state,    driving means (10,13,14) for intermittently moving said supporting means (11,23) so that each magazine casing assembling chuck (20) is successively stopped at a plurality of stations (A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I) and is brought therein either into said closed state or into said open state, according to the operation to be executed at each of said stations,    a barrel plate feeding means (31, 32) for loading a barrel plate (30) into each magazine casing assembling chuck (20) when said chuck is stopped at a first station,    a film assembly feeding means (37, 39) for loading a film assembly comprising a spool (35) and a film roll (38) wound around said spool (35) into the barrel plate (30) carried by the magazine casing assembly chuck (20) when said chuck is stopped at a second station,    a capping system for mounting caps (51) on respective ends of said barrel plate having said film assembly (35, 38) accommodated therein, when said magazine casing assembling chuck is stopped at a third station, and    a film magazine discharging means for discharging the capped barrel plate (30) from the magazine casing assembling chuck (20) when said chuck is stopped at a fourth station, said system being characterised in that    said driving means (10,13,14) comprise an indexing member (10) rotatable about a substantially horizontal rotational axis (12) and a cam member rotatable relative to said indexing member (10) and having an annular cam groove (14), and    each of said supporting means (11,23) comprises a support lever (11) rigidly fixed to said indexing member (10) and directly and rigidly supporting a first chuck member (21) of said pair of chuck members (21, 22), and a chuck driving lever (23) supporting the other chuck member (22) of said pair of chuck members (21, 22) and engaging with said annular cam groove (14).
  2. 5
A film magazine assembling system as claimed in one of claims 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the inner surfaces of said chuck members (21, 22) are a part of a cylindrical surface which is formed in a closed state of the chuck members (21, 22) where the chuck members (21, 22) are mated with each other, one of the side edges (21b, 22b) of one of the chuck members (21, 22) parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical surface (21a, 22a) is spaced from the mating edge (21b, 22b) of the other chuck members (21, 22) in an open state, an edge portion (21b) with which a turned edge portion (30a) of a barrel plate (30) for forming the magazine slit is to be engaged is provided on one of said chuck members (21), a barrel plate pushing member (27) for resiliently pushing the barrel plate (30) positioned between the chuck members (21, 22) toward said one chuck member (21) is provided on the other chuck member (22).
  3. 6
A film magazine assembling system as claimed in one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that said barrel plate feeding means comprises a barrel plate guide (31) and a pair of feeding claws (32) for pushing the barrel plate (30) away from the barrel plate guide (31) into the magazine casing assembling chuck (20).
  4. 7
A film magazine assembling system as claimed in one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that said film assembly feeding means comprises a pallet (37) for holding the spool (35) parallel to a guide rail (35) along which the pallet is movable, said pallet having pinch arms (39) for pinching a leader portion of the roll film (38).
