Coupling for fire hose with built-in communication cable.

Abstract

The present invention which relates to a coupling for a fire hose with built-in communication cable includes an inner cylinder, with identical shape for the male and female units, in which a hose with built-in communication cable is fitted in the base end part and an annular conductor, to which is applied electrical insulation and water-proofing, is provided on the opening face on its tip, and an outer cylinder engaged idly with the outer periphery of the inner cylinder, and provided with at least one set of an engaging claw part serving as male side and an opening window serving as female side, on the same face as that of the opening end of the inner cylinder, to improve the linking operability between the hoses. On the other hand, when couplings are fitted to the respective ends of the hoses, the communication cable is interposed between the jacket part and the protective cushion of the hose so as to protect it from being broken, and is tightened.

  1. 1
    (1) A coupling for fire hose with built-in communication cable, comprising:an inner cylinder, identical in shape for male and female units, fitted in its base end part with a fire hose with built-in communication cable, given insulation and water-proofing for an opening face of its tip using an annular sealing material, and provided with an annular conductor connected to the communication cable;an outer cylinder idly engaged with the outer periphery of the inner cylinder, having on the same surface as the opening end of the inner cylinder, along its circumferential direction, at least a pair of engaging claw part that serves as male side and opening window that serves as female side;said coupling characterized in that the end face of said annular sealing material being formed into an inclined surface that protrudes out of the inner cylinder end face in the direction from the outer diameter side toward the inner diameter side, and a groove part that continuous to said opening window being provided on the inner peripheral surface of said inner cylinder in such a way that when two outer cylinders are turned relatively with each other by being assembled so as to cause the groove part of one cylinder to be engaged with the engaging claw part of the other, the outer cylinders can be brought into contact or separated from one another, thereby making it possible to bring the annular sealing materials on the respective inner cylinders into pressurized contact.
  2. 2
    2) A coupling for fire hose with built-in communication cable characterized in that an end part of the fire hose with built-in communication cable having the communication cable interposed between a jacket part and a lining layer is inserted, via a hose protective cushion placed on the tightening piece side, between a tightening piece and a hose connecting part having a sharp tip engaging part and an arcuate tip engaging part of the coupling, interposing the cable that is led out to the outside of said jacket part from an area corresponding at least to said sharp tip engaging part of end part of said hose, between said hose protective cushion and said jacket part, and tightening the end part of said hose to the hose connecting part using said tightening piece.
