The present invention relates to a shoe buckle comprising a base intended to be fixed on a part of a boot, a tensioning lever with two arms hinged on this base by the end of its arms, a first hooking member intended to be attached to a second hooking member fixed to another part of the shoe, connecting means of adjustable length between the first hooking member and the tensioning lever comprising a first attachment support member provided with a rod having a threaded portion engaged in a threaded body mounted rotatably on an attachment element consisting of a retaining piece articulated by an axis on the tensioning lever, said threaded body being drivable manually rotated to change the length connecting means.
Such a buckle is known from document DE-A-2157948. The fastening element consists of a sheet metal stamped so as to have a rectangular cut, in which is mounted a nut, and two parallel arms articulated to the tensioning lever. The nut bears against a folded portion of the fastener. This loop has a relatively large size, the nut must necessarily be located outside the space of the tensioning lever. In addition, the actuation of the nut is inconvenient, it can not be gripped between the thumb and forefinger when the loop is locked.
The invention aims to achieve an adjustable loop in the latched position of very compact construction and wherein the nut retaining the rod can be operated more conveniently.
The buckle according to the invention, as defined in claim 1, is characterized by a very compact construction easy to realize and to assemble.
According to a preferred embodiment, the threaded portion of the rod has a countersink on one part of its length, countersink in which is engaged a part of the circumference of said axis, so as to limit the stroke of the rod in the element attachment. The cooperation of the pin and the recess also prevents the threaded rod, and therefore the first fastening member, to rotate. A clearance between the pin and the recess, however, allow a slight twisting motion to ensure mutual alignment of the two attachment members. The knob is preferably provided with a groove by which it is retained axially in the attachment by a pin element.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, two embodiments of the invention.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a first embodiment of the buckle in closed position.
Figure 2 is a partial view in section on II-II of Figure 1.
Figure 3 is a partial view, in longitudinal section, of a second embodiment.
The buckle shown in Figures 1 and 2 comprises a ring 1 connected to a tensioning lever articulated on a base 2 shaped bracket 3 fixed on a part 4 of a shoe, the nut coming to fasten in one of notches of a fastening rack 5 fixed by a rivet 6 to another part 7 of the shoe. The tensioning lever 2 has two arms 8 and 9 by the end of which it is articulated by means of two pins 10 and 11 (Figure 2) on the two wings of the base 3. The ring 1 is fixed on a support 12 and connected by a bent rod 13 to a fastening element 14 itself hinged between the arms 8 and 9 of the tensioning lever 2, at a point between the axes 10 and 11 and the end 15 of the tensioning lever. By the above described elements, the loop shown is similar to the loop described in US Patent No. 4 051 611. It also includes a hunting horn in spring, which shows a bent end 16 in Figure 2, which tend to maintain the tensioning lever 2 in the closed position.
The base 3 has, firstly, a hole 17 for fastening by means of a rivet to the shoe (2) and secondly, at its other end, two teeth 18 for its attachment to a wafer 19 it -even fixed to the shoe by a rivet through a hole 20.
The attachment member 14 has the shape of a breakthrough compass of an axial circular hole 21. This hole is traversed by the rod 13 provided with a thread by which it is screwed into the threaded hole 23 of a button 22. This cylindrical button 22 has a cylindrical narrowing 24 which engages in a widening 25 of the hole 21. the shoulder 26 thus formed on the button 22 abuts against the end of the attachment member 14. the shrinkage 24 of button 22 has a circular groove 27 in which engages a pin 28 driven into the attachment element 14, this pin 28 axially retaining the button 22 of the fastening element 14 while allowing it to rotate on and in that fastener.
The threaded portion of the rod 13 has, on a part of its length, a countersink 29 parallel to the axis of the rod this countersink 29 is traversed transversely by the half of the section of a shaft 30 which is the axis of the articulation of the attachment 14 to the arms 8 and 9 of the tensioning lever member 2. the rod 13 is thus retained in the fastening element 14 with the possibility to move axially in the fastening element a distance equal to the length of the recess 29.
As emerges from the drawing, the fastening element 14 is preferably made of synthetic material.
We see immediately that by turning the button 22 is made to vary the distance between the ring 1 and its hinge pin 30 on the tensioning lever, and consequently the clamping of the loop.
The ring 1 could of course be replaced by any other gripping member, for example a room to the bent end hook-shaped or a part provided with notches analogous to the part 5 interacts with a suitable element on the other part of the shoe.
The second embodiment shown in Figure 3 has many common elements with the first embodiment. These common elements have either not represented or are designated by the same reference as in Figures 1 and 2 with a '.
This embodiment comprises an attachment element 31 articulated between the base of the flanges 3 'by means of an axis 30'. The attachment member 31 has a cylindrical recess 32 in which is engaged a cylindrical nut 33 which is screwed in the threaded rod 13 '. This nut 33 is provided with a flange 34 which abuts against the end of the attachment member 31. On the nut 33 is fixed a splined cap 35 of synthetic material constituting the button. The nut 33 is further provided with an annular groove 36 in which is engaged a portion of the shaft 30 '. The adjustment knob is locked by the pin 30 '.
